chapter 5: Behind the mask is a hurting child

Third person POV:

Tommy sighed as he walked down the hall. His father had called him down to his office to talk to him, techno, wilbur, and some others.

He quietly sang along to the music in his headphones, "How to save a life" by They fray was the songs name. As soon as he walked into the room Beau threw herself onto him. " Are you alright tommy!? WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU!? " She questioned, meat tears.

" I'm fine. " He replied, ignoring the second question. " What did you need me for? " He questioned looking over at his father and brothers. " Tommy.. We wanted to make sure your alright.. " Phil replied and tommy had to fight his conscience not to roll his eyes.

" I'm fine. Can I leave now your emperial king? " Tommt replied, fightiing the urge to roll his eyes at his father. " No, we just want to make sure nothings going on.. " Dream replied. Tommy rolled his eyes. " This is so stupid. " Tommy mumbled to himself. " I'm fine alright!? I wanna leave now! " Tommy demanded.

The song in tommys headphones changed to " Dandelion" by Gabbie Hanna. He sighed, it reminded him of his mother. She always loved dandelions but anytime tommy said he liked them too she got mad at him, and would yell at him.

She was bipolar, and sometimes was extreme cruel when giving punishments. Even at the slightest mention of tommy being like her pissed her off, even if it wasn't tommy who said it himself and someone else she'd punish him.

She would often cry to him, saying she didn't want him to be anything like her, and that his brother already took to much after her. He didn't understand what she meant at that young age, his young mind couldn't understand why she didn't want him to be anything like her.

She always told him that if he was like her in the future his life wouldn't go well... He was always her favorite. He was a kindhearted, bright, and kind child. However she hated when he helped others. She said it reminded her of her past self, and said to never do that infront of his father or brothers because they'd disown him.

She had sakd she wouldnt alwayd be around to protect and sheild him from their hatred and their cruelness, but he didnt believe her. He nightve not been one of the favirite to his father, and the only one his mother would acknowledge but they were his family.

So like the stupid child he was, he ignored her warnings. And as soon as she died of sickness, his family ignored and disowned him unless they needed a favor for him.

Tommys POV:

I took a deep breath upon rembering my childhood. I tried to block out those memories long ago...

" Tommy its alright to hurt inside sometimes... " Dream replied and I groaned and rolled my eyes. " I said I'm fucking fine, can I leave!? I have things to do! " I replied, agitated. " Tommy! " Phil yelled at me, I rolled my eyes at my "father". It was obvious he was upset about how I was speaking to prince dream.

Finally I just had enough and walked out the room, ignoring the shouts of my "family" and friends. I knew they'd send royals guards after me, but at the moment I couldn't care less. I ran down the hallway, and took a sharp turn, almost hitting the wall.

Then as I continued to run, I ended up bumping into fundy and funneh(funneh is fundys twin in my au so fundy is not trans) and knocked the 3 year olds down and onto their butts.

Funneh immediately bursted into tears and fundy frowned and got up, and then hugged his sister. I quickly picked up funneh and began bouncing her on my hip, and comforting her but fundy hit his leg and reached upwards before muttering a quiet, " uppy! ".

He was always the tsundere of the two while funneh immediately loved all contact. The only two people fundy did allow to touch him without no permission was me(his "mama"/"ommy"/"mommy" as he calls his, when he tries to say tommys name or hes mad at tommy it's ommy tho), and dream(because he has a adorable crush on him).

Fundy immediately cuddled up into my side and i sighed. They were getting heavy, both about 45 pounds each. I continued to walk and cursed as i noticed 5 minuets passed, he had about 5 more minutes before quards began searching for him, and about 35 before they find him in the garden.

oh well, at least i get to keep my nephew and neice company since their deadbeat dad doesn't seem to want them. The stupid caretakers the castle hired suck and aren't that good so usually I finds them locked out the room as a "punishment" or they ran away while playing "hide and seek" and the seekers either didn't care to try and find them or are still trying too.

Most of the time im the one to find them, and I've ordered the guards around the palace to bring them to me if they find them in the hallways. Atleast their not as bad as the first batch of caretakers.

At around 2 their dad decided that I shouldn't take care of them but someone who knows what their doing better(though tommy probably knows better then them all). They tried to hit them, and once succeeded but then I found out when I heard funneh crying and immediately had all their heads chopped off or then excuted

It was honestly funny seeing them neg for mercy, and claiming they didn't do it, and they loved the kids so much. The kids didn't get much from their father except sadly one or two traits... thos traits was his manipulative personality, and his sadisticness.

The kids try not to be like that with me but for the first two years of their life they were like that sadly. And I still has truma from it. It was hard for them to change, after all it was all they had known before that.

But that didn't matter, I was more mature and older so i'd get over it. I wasn't a child, so I refused to act like one. It didn't matter what people thought of me, he wasn't a child. However, I was young THAT DID NOT MEAN IM A CHILD THOUGH!

Oh, im at the garden already. Guess I didn't realize when I was stuck inside my head and thoughts.

Third person POV:

Tommy checked his comonicator and realized he only had 20 more minuets before they found him. It was always the same, he had a bunch they knew since he's been doing this for years yet decided not to say anything and let him have alone time.

He doesn't care though, in fact he appreciated them for that. They obviously taught or told the newer guards to do the same too.

It's nice to know that they are also appreciative of how nice he us to them compared to his family(and everyone else), and how he saves their asses so much.

Tommy was a mother figure towards most of these men, mostly because their mother was dead, their mother disowned them, they don't know their mother, they haven't seen their mother in a long time, and how he treats them.

He's usually the one to treat their wounds and secretly give then breaks, and food and water. His family was cruel and they'd probably pass out from dehydration or hunger or even sleep deprivation because of his cruel brothers and fathers rules.

But tommy is always their to save their asses, and let then have a break while giving them a valid excuse, which is " I was with imperial crown prince thesus. ". They can't say anything or punish them if they were helping the crowned prince with something.

A/N: I just wanna say sorry for making you guys wait so long, I wanted to make this longer then usual even though it'll only take a few minutes for you to read it, I thought you'd appreciate it, also I have extremely bad writers block, and ik I'm not good at first person don't judge me I don't do it a lot, and kept forgetting it was first person. Also I don't know much about bipolar disorder, my dad has it so I just described it how he acted during his "breakdowns" I guess?
