The Low Life

Phoenix was getting her food stamps and when she left the facility she was immediately attacked by some ship teenagers. Believe me. They're bad.

" pathetic" Kongou said, kicking Phoenix to the ground. " its scum like you who ruin our great society" Kongou spoke, tossing the food stamps to the ground. Phoenix scrambled to go pick it up until Magdeburg used her mechanical shark and chomped it all up.

" aww sorry man did you need those?" Magdeburg said, as Kongou's mean girl group laughed. Had some fun with Phoenix by roughing her up/beating her up. Until Princeton just happened upon the scene making the kids flee. Not wanting to get in trouble with the principle of their school.

Princeton: " are you alright?" Extending her hand to Phoenix who slapped it away and said " fuck off!" And got up herself and limped away.

Most ships stayed away from Phoenix, as would normal people when they see homeless people. Mostly just pass them by as quickly as they can. Even the children knew to stay away from her. Not wanting to be near her at all. In fact, the only person who hung out with Phoenix was Tosa.

Tosa was very much a loner, she didn't like to talk much. She was homeless as well, well I'm a sense I guess? I mean, she lived on the mountain side in a cave. The only difference was that she didn't beg or scavenged through trash. Instead she hunted for food, mostly eating rodents she caught with traps. Yeah...

Phoenix hung out with her a lot. They lived in the same cave together. They both knew a lot of people/ships looked down on them.

Phoenix slumped down on the cave. Holding her stomach. After being kicked a good amount of times. She kinda felt like she was bleeding internally or had broken some ribs...

" what happened?" Tosa asked, the few words she ever does say is whenever something seems important to her or to be left alone.

Phoenix: " nothing. I'm fine *cough!*" coughing up some blood.

Tosa shook her head, and tended to Phoenix's wounds. Feeling her stomach for any broken bones or bleeding. Luckily there was none. She was just massively sore.

" oh thank god I wouldn't have been able to afford going to the hospital" Phoenix said, relieved.

Later that night...

Phoenix: " it's so fucking cold..." shivering.

Tosa than pulled Phoenix close. Startling her. " what the-?!" Phoenix yelped. But saw that her friend was just trying to give her warmth. As Tosa wrapped her arms around her and her nine fluffy soft grey tails too. It sure did feel a bit warmer.

But that's when Tosa asked " your not going out tomorrow are you?" Hearing Phoenix say " well yeah, I got too" thinking they need every cent of forging for resources. Phoenix felt Tosa tighten her grip on her.

Tosa: " I'll do it. You just stay here and rest." hearing Phoenix half heartedly laugh and say " you?" Knowing Tosa doesn't beg. Let alone she hardly ever goes to town.

Phoenix turned around to look at Tosa and said " look. I'm fine. Just go forge for berries n stuff. I got this." not wanting Tosa to degrade herself.
