TAEHYUNG'S POV:
As always, Jimin and I came to watch Yoongi's basketball match. But today, something was different—there was a little spark of excitement in my chest, a flutter I couldn't control. Because today... Jungkook was playing too.
We walked into the court, and the familiar buzz of energy surrounded us. The guys were already seated, and I slipped into the spot between Lisa and Jimin. The tension was rising, people were chattering, and then—
The team finally walked in.
And just like that, time stopped.
There he was—Jeon Jungkook. Dressed in a red sleeveless jersey and matching shorts, the color complimented his milky skin perfectly. The way the light hit his face, the way his toned arms flexed slightly with every step—he looked like he stepped out of a dream. My heart skipped a beat. God, he looked breathtaking.
"Oh my god, finally! I get to see him play again! I'm so happy!" Lisa squealed beside me, eyes sparkling. Then, without warning, she cupped her hands around her mouth and yelled, "JUNGKOOK!!! GOOD LUCK!!!"
Jungkook looked up in surprise, clearly flustered. He gave Lisa a small glare and motioned for her to be quiet.
Lisa just burst out laughing. "Oh my goodness! He's so shy! Hahahahaha!"
I smiled, trying to keep my envy hidden. That was the second time I'd seen Jungkook show any expression—and both times were thanks to Lisa. I want to be close to him too, I felt a twinge of jealousy, but I quickly shook it off. No, Taehyung. Don't think like that. Just be patient. He'll open up to you too... someday.
"They're starting!" Hobi said, practically bouncing in his seat.
The whistle blew. The game was on.
And Jungkook... he was a whole different person on the court.
Fast, precise, confident—his movements were poetry in motion. Every dribble, every pass, every shot—it was like watching someone in their element. The crowd couldn't stop cheering. I couldn't take my eyes off him.
By the time the game ended, their team had won by a landslide. But I barely noticed the score. I was too busy watching Jungkook, who stood there with sweat glistening on his skin, damp hair clinging to his forehead, his chest rising and falling as he caught his breath.
I was dying.
He looked so effortlessly hot, so captivating, I thought my heart might burst. I was still lost in my daydreams when Lisa's voice snapped me out of it.
"Oh my god! I knew it! He's still into basketball—that liar!"
"He used to play a lot?" I asked, trying to sound casual.
Lisa nodded with a nostalgic smile. "Yeah, he was obsessed with it. But not just basketball—he used to swim, draw, play guitar, even sing. He was so passionate. But then... he just stopped everything. I'm glad he played again today. Maybe it's a sign."
I looked at her curiously. "Do you... know why he stopped?"
She shook her head slowly. "I wasn't there. I was away when it happened. When I came back, he was different. Quiet. Closed off. My dad ended up taking him in. There were rumors... maybe a family issue? His relationship with his parents was always rocky."
"That must've been really hard," I murmured, heart aching at the thought.
Before Lisa could answer, Hobi's voice boomed across the table. "Oooh!! They're coming! Congrats, babe!"
Yoongi walked in with a proud grin, heading straight for Hobi and pulling him into a tight hug. "Thanks, love."
Then he turned to Lisa. "Please convince Jungkook to join the team. He says he won't."
