Chapter 1

"'Cause we are never ever ever getting back together." Taylor Swifts famous song blasted through my earphones

Its not the usual music I listen too, but the lyrics felt appropriate in the position I was in.

I sighed as I looked out the window of the backseat of my dad's car.

"We're here!" Yelled my dad as he parked the car.

Finally I thought. I opened the door and hoped out. I looked around

Woah. This is a huge campus. I saw hundreds of faces. My mom got out of the car.

"Wow this where you'll be for the next four years." She started to tear up.

Oh no here come the water works i thought "Mom, please don't cry."

"My baby's growing up!" She was full on crying.

Everyone around us stared and laughed. I felt my cheeks burn red.

Great. What a great way to start off my first day at college.

"Dad, can you please get a hold of her," I said quietly.

"Don't worry baby, I got this." He said walking over to my mom. "Tammy why don't you wait in the car while I take Arianna up to her dorm."

"O..okay than!" She said crying harder "I love you Arianna!" she yelled aloud. That I'm sure the whole campus heard.

I rolled my eyes and looked at the ground with embarrassment. I cannot wait to get away from them and this was my getaway. I smiled to myself a little. I made it.

"Well you're mom is settling down," my dad said walking toward me "Now lets get you up to that dormitory."

"Dad, I'm all grown-up. I don't need you to walk me to my room." I chuckled.

"I know but you're my baby girl," he also started to tear up. "you'll always be no matter how old you are."

I smiled and gave in. I wrapped him in a bear hug. "I love you daddy. "

I let go. He smiled "So does this give me permission to turn your room into my own private gym?"

I laughed. "Yes dad." I rolled my eyes.

He kissed my forhead.

"Ill get your bags." He said.

I stood there looking around at the faces that I'll probably won't remember by tomorrow, there was so many people.

University Of NYC. I'm finally away from my boring old town... and away from Matthew-my ex boyfriend. My dad got my bags. I said my last goodbyes and carried my bags across campus to my dorm. Room 127. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a hug from what was obviously my roomate. I smiled awkwardly.

"Hi, I'm Mia." said the perky blonde. "And I have a feeling we're going to be great friends."

Oh god I thought. I've lived with a woman like this for 19 years but I called her "mom".

I said nothing but smiled.
