As night fell, I made my way back to the village I left Giyu in. I hoped to come across him again. The villagers had all gone inside, having been warned I was lurking. I could only assume that a Hashira wouldn't be hiding.

I jumped from the rooftop and landed where I last saw Giyu. The ground showed many footprints, but I found the ones I was searching for. They walked through the village, but suddenly disappeared.

"Smart." I mumbled.

He jumped from the ground to the rooftops didn't he? He knew I was lurking and thought I might come back to find him. So he did what he could to make the trail disappear. Was the Flame Hashira as smart?

I made my way back to where I left the female and I examined the ground. Her footprints were joined by the Flame Hashira's, who appeared to take large steps. It meant he was rushing to her after he lost me. Her footprints disappeared and that told me that he carried her.

I followed his footprints and they led back to the village. I noticed two more sets of footprints joining them, and they walked away. The Flame Hashira's footprints then left the village. He wasn't here. He had left. I went back to the others I saw, and they also left.

The only one I could assume was here was Giyu. His were the only ones I had seen that didn't leave the village. I wasn't able to locate where they landed once he made it back to the ground. I would have to draw him out.

I turned to the nearest house and charged forward. When I broke through the door, a young family screamed. I grinned as I looked at my next meal. A mother and a father, a son and a young girl. I went for the father first because he would put up the most fight.

But before I was able to grab him, I sensed Giyu behind me. I smiled as I turned to him. The beautiful face I saw the night before, the wondrous eyes bored into mine, and I was elated.

"You came! I was hoping you would." I said.

"I knew you would come back. I've been waiting for you." He said.

My smile grew. He was waiting for me! He was thinking about me!

"I'm so happy to hear that!" I said.

"Don't be. I'm here to kill you. Leave that man alone." He said.

I smiled as I dropped my hands from the man's sleeve.

"Anything for you, Giyu." I said.

His eyes narrowed, and he glared at me. I was sure that if I had a normal heart, it would be racing right now.

"I knew you were following me last night." He said.

"I had to finish what I started." I said.

"You hurt my best friend, and you won't get away with that. Her husband is also furious and is hunting you." He said.

"Pfft. That Flame human? I don't care about him. But you're a different story. You're powerful, Giyu. I can tell." I said.

He didn't respond and then turned to the man behind me, ignoring me. I pouted, I didn't like being ignored by him. I wanted him to notice me.

"I'll take care of this demon. For now, you need to leave this room, and if you have somewhere else you can go, I recommend going there."

He then looked back and me and his hand went to his sword at his waist. I smiled at him, and he only watched me expressionless. How beautiful.

I ran as fast as I could past him, luring him outside. It worked because he followed. I ran from the village and went back to the spot I had first met him.
