I wasn't far from the village where I left Giyu. It shouldn't be too much longer, and he would be out here, wandering around, wondering why he was so hungry. I would help him. I had killed a human, and saved some to give to him. I just had to find him.
Near the village exit, I sensed somebody rushing out. Was it a Hashira? I focused closer. No. It wasn't a human. But... it also wasn't one of us. Giyu! He was in the between state.
I rushed forward and followed him. He ran and ran, as fast as he could. He had already increased his speed, on the fast track to becoming a demon. Perfect. I smiled as I rushed forward and tackled him.
We bumped and rolled, and eventually I landed on top of him. He stared up at me with narrowed eyes. Those beautiful blue eyes hadn't changed, but his face had. And he had beautiful fangs just like I did.
"Giyu!" I said happily.
"You did this!" He roared.
"Yes! Now you can be mine for eternity." I said.
"I will never be yours."
But look at your beautiful face, Giyu. I'm glad you kept your eyes, but look at what you're becoming!"
I caressed the lovely pattern that slowly began to appear on his skin. My gaze landed on his hand which was at my neck. The beautiful pattern of waving water appeared, making its way down his hand, and the word water formed on his hand, permanently labeling him as an embodiment of water.
He continued to growl as I pushed some hair from his face, and he snarled. I smiled at how sweet his growl was, and I wanted more of him. I leaned forward, and planted a kiss on his cheek.
He writhed and tried to fight me, and his strength increased more and more, until he was able to escape my grasp. He kicked me and I was lifted into the air and shoved back.
He stood and tried to run, but I was still faster and caught him quickly. He snarled again and slashed at me as he turned.
"You're going to be an amazing demon, Giyu!"
He continued to glare at me, and he was still human enough that he was able to be knocked unconscious. I would speed the process by doing so.
He didn't seem to want to be a demon so I would have to bring him somewhere safe so he wouldn't force himself into the sunlight when he woke up.
I sighed. And had to do something to keep him in place. I let him run for a moment then changed my form. My feet took me forward and I purposely held myself back so my trick might work.
"Tomioka! Is that you? Wait!" I shouted.
His step faltered, and he turned to look behind him. I caught up to him, and his eyes widened.
"Kocho, I told you to stay away!"
"I can't. I want to help you!" I called.
He slowed down, and dropped to his knees, covering his face. I stopped beside him and knelt.
"Tomioka?" I asked.
"No, you can't look at me. Just kill me!" He roared, causing the air to vibrate.
"No. I'll help you." I said.
He was finally still enough, and I would be able to do what I needed to. I leaned forward, pulled his hand from his face and pulled him into my arms and kissed him. He pulled away, and what I saw wasn't the Giyu that looked at me in disgust, instead I saw love and longing. He really did love whoever this girl was.
I wanted to be that for him, and I would try to be as he transitioned into being a demon. I would be anything he needed me to be, and maybe he could start seeing me as a friend. But first, the hardest thing to do.
