Fourteen - Hashira Trial

I stood beside Shino, and I smirked as I watched the others glare at Tomioka. They all knew what he did to me, and they were about to find out what he had done to Shino, and even Enkyo.

I hated him, and his act. There was no way he couldn't remember trying to make me kill Shino. I didn't trust him and I never would. The remorse he felt was real, and that meant he had to have remembered.

The others around me had similar feelings to mine, except Kanroji and Shino. The women were softer, and that was going to make this trial difficult.

"Tomioka, can you tell us what you remember before standing with us in the room?" Shino asked.

"As if he's going to tell the truth." I muttered.

"Mura, please. Let Tomioka talk." She said.

"Fine. Let him try to talk his way out of this. You know where I stand on this matter." I said.

I turned and walked away, then leaned against a tree. I was tired from the walk here, but wouldn't let the other Hashira see it.

"Why is Tomioka here?" Tokito asked.

Ah, yes, right. He wouldn't remember much. Tokito had that little problem, and I could feel his confusion.

"He's here because he-" I began, but Shino cut me off.

"He's here, Muichiro, because he is on trial for his actions." She said.

I cross my arms, and glared at the ground. I was going to give a better explanation. I was going to say that he was here because he might as well have just tried to eat us when he was a demon.

"What did he do?" Tokito asked.

I took a breath to speak, but once again, Shino wouldn't let me speak.

"He became a demon."

"Oh. Can we kill him?" He asked.

"Yes! I say yes!" I shouted.

"We are going to discuss it." She said.

"Alright." Tokito said.

"I agree with Fuji, we should kill Tomioka and get rid of him." Shinazugawa said.

"Yes! Let's go with Shinazugawa's idea, please." I said.

"But I heard that Tomioka didn't devour any humans." Kanroji said.

I looked over at Kanroji, and I could sense her hesitance. She didn't want to kill him. She would continue not wanting to kill him, so that would be a vote against his death. And Shino as well, I could sense her conviction. She didn't want him dead either.

"From what I heard, Tomioka was killing demons as a demon himself."

I glanced up at Himejima. He was still undecided. I could feel his wavering decision. He was against all demons, but because Tomioka was still hunting demons, it caused his indecision.

"I don't trust him. I never will. Not after he already forced Fuji to slice his neck. We almost lost one of our own because of him." Iguro said.

Iguro was exploding with mistrust, and annoyance. I smiled, knowing that was going to be another vote to kill him.

"Tomioka can't be allowed to live. Demons are evil creatures, and he became one of them. He has attempted to kill Fuji, and because of that, I sentence him to death." Shinazugawa said.

I already knew his vote would be to kill Tomioka. He hated him as much as I did.

"Tomioka is no longer a demon. He is a human again, and has not caused any harm since his return to humanity. He has no recollection of his time as a demon. I don't think we can hold that against him." Shino said.
