When Sophia was brought to the main tent, her hands were tied to a pole, standing firmly in the ground to hold part of the tent up. She tried many times to pull away, to somehow get her hands out of the ropes, but nothing worked.
That's when, "Are you comfortable, Precious?" the disgusting man enters.
"Don't call me that. I heard your great speech; you won't get away with this. No matter where you run, they will find you and kill you." Sophia retorts back.
"Oh, don't worry. I won't be sad if they find us; I'll be able to finish off the entire North family. Such a great opportunity!" he shared part of his secret plan.
Sophia laughed at his wild plan, but she couldn't get her comeback out before he grabbed her by her chin.
"Listen to me, Precious; you will stay with me for as long as I want. I haven't tried you yet, but I'm sure you will be the best of all the ones I've had." the Captain smirks and licks his lips.
"Once and if I get bored of you... I will sell you to the highest bidder and let him do whatever he pleases with you." he harshly lets go of her chin and stands above her. "So I suggest you forget all about returning home to your family and friends. You will never see them again." he laughs hysterically and settles down on his mat.
Sophia's heart was beating so fast that she was sure it would stop at any minute. As much as she wanted to be strong and fearless in this situation, the fear growing... was becoming uncontrollable. He hadn't shared the details of his plans for her, but she could just imagine them on her own, and that scared her.
Even if he told her to give up, she couldn't do that. She won't accept this to be her life or future. She was sure Tyler, Eric, and even Rowen were trying their best to find her.
She trusts them; she has faith in them.
"Get some rest, Precious; like you heard, we have a trip tomorrow." Sophia didn't bother to answer him. As if she would allow herself to sleep in his presence.
She won't let her guard down as long as she is here and within his reach.

The following day couldn't have come any slower. Sophia managed to keep herself awake the entire night while he kept snoring. That somehow helped her out. Throughout the whole night, she kept trying to get her hands out.
Back in the day, when she was taking lessons on what she could do if ever in danger, Eric shared something she thought was cool back then. He told her sometimes when the hands are tied, the only way out is to dislocate the thumb. That way, the hand will be able to slip out.
She was very naive.
Now when she is in that situation, she can't do it... Not only does she not know how she can dislocate it in this position, the thought of it, and the pain that will come with it... makes her heart sink.
Her entire being knew that her chances of escaping would go up if she did it. Yet, her fear of the pain that will engulf her is keeping her here.
She cursed herself for not being able to take that step.
Soon, she started hearing noises outside the tent. They were packing up their camp and getting ready to move out. He was still sleeping, with not a single care in the world.
"Captain, we are ready. What shall we do with the girl?" she recognized the voice as Curtis.
He stirred awake instantly at his update. "Unbind her and tie her hands in front of her. Make sure it is tight. We don't want her trying anything while riding with me." he smirks, putting on his coat and going out.
