Third povThe human and vampire returned to Hongjoong's car, where they climbed inside and drove in silence for a bit.
"I don't think you understand what you've signed up for," Seonghwa said, looking outside of the window.
"I've signed up for my brother to be healed, so as long as that happens, then nothing else matters," Hongjoong said, glancing over at the vampire in his passenger seat.
"Put on your seatbelt. I don't need to get a ticket because you don't worry about being safe," he continued. The vampire scoffed.
"As if you'll get pulled over for going the speed limit."
"I have sped twice in the last month because Bumjoong had passed out. If it happens a third time, or I get pulled over for any reason, I will lose my license, so please buckle your seatbelt," Hongjoong repeated.
The vampire rolled his eyes but did as he was asked.
Hongjoong parked his car in the lot below his apartment complex before hopping out. They walked in silence to the brothers' apartment, where Hongjoong had to invite the vampire inside.
"Good lord, I've been gone for three hours, how is he still asleep?" Hongjoong mumbled, seeing the older man's bedroom light still off.
"Bummie, are you okay?" The human asked, turning the light on then stepping closer to his brother. He grabbed a finger sized pulse oximeter from the bedside table and put it on his brother's pointer finger to check some of his vitals.
"Shit, okay so no time for introductions or his consent, he's dying, so just do it! Heal him however y'all do it!" Hongjoong exclaimed.
Bumjoong's oxygen was low, at 85% and his pulse was slower than normally at 65 beats per minute. Both were getting worse as time progressed.
Seonghwa bit into his own wrist before letting some of his blood drip into into the older Kim brother's mouth.
Hongjoong watched in awe and disgust both as the vampire did so and his skin began to heal again.
"He should wake up in a few minutes," Seonghwa said, now looking towards Hongjoong.
The human stayed quiet as he looked back down at the pulse oximeter. Both vitals were improving quickly just as said, and were getting even better than they had been in years.
Hongjoong sat down on the carpet beside his brother's bed and held his hand. He leaned his forehead down against the mattress as he cried once again over his big brother becoming well.
"Thank you, Seonghwa," Hongjoong spoke, though his sobs had cut into his words a bit.
The vampire smiled softly though the humans couldn't see it and was confused by himself.
Seonghwa couldn't remember the last time he had helped someone outside of his family of his own will.
His parents and uncle-who had come over for a reason he didn't know- sat him at the table with Hongjoong just a few hours ago when the latter arrived at his house unannounced.
His parents didn't want to let Hongjoong past the golden gates after what his uncle had said- Seonghwa couldn't be bothered to remember what was said- but he knew he had to let the man inside and help him.
"If you heal Bumjoong, then you know Hongjoong will be unable to leave this house alone- if ever at all. His bloodline is special, Seonghwa- it was his previous family that I had fed on to finalize my change. I wouldn't be able to let another with that blood type go," his father had said.
Seonghwa couldn't even remember the last time he had smiled, as awful as that is.
The human laying on the bed soon awoke, still holding his younger brother's hand.
"Why are you crying, Joong? Who's that at the end of my bed?" Bumjoong questioned.
"You know how much I love you, right, Hyung?" Hongjoong asked softly, using honorifics he hadn't in years.
"What- did I die or something and he resuscitated me? What happened? Why are you calling me Hyung again?" Bumjoong asked, getting more worried as time progressed.
"Why don't you stand up for a bit, Hyung? Walk for a few minutes?"
"But I'm supposed to be on complete bed rest now," Bumjoong responded.
"Bumjoong, he's beating around the bush. My name is Park Seonghwa, and I'm a vampire. I healed you with some of my blood, and now, you need to book plane tickets to Helen, Georgia since you won't be dying anytime soon from Leukemia." Seonghwa cut in.
"What the fuck?" Bumjoong laughed and shook his head at the pair of men.
"Did you two get high and then slip me something?" Bumjoong asked.
"Hyung, see for yourself. Stand up and try to do things on your own," hongjoong repeated. When Bumjoong stayed still, Seonghwa rolled his eyes.
"Watch this." Seonghwa lifted his wrist to his mouth again and bit down. He held his forearm out to show it healing towards the older Kim brother.
"Kim Hongjoong, what did you do?" Bumjoong asked, his voice eerily calm as he looked towards the youngest man.
"I made a deal with a vampire," Hongjoong said, not bothering to beat around the bush this time.
"What deal?! What did you give up for me?!"
"That doesn't matter-"
"It does matter! Hongjoong, what did you have to give for Seonghwa to heal me?"
"I'm not entirely sure what I agreed to, but a life for a life was what I offered."
