Yeah not beta-read or spell check lol. Hopefully this is a step up for me because I re-read the past chapters and holy cow they are horrible. So much second hand embarrassment...

*Step* *Step* *Step* Faster and faster they carried you. Down the street and through the neighborhood. *Step* *Step* *Step* Your phone rang again and again but you didn't pick up, you can't pick up, the sun burns.

Most people wouldn't think the moon burns either, because it doesn't. It's a rock, a cold rock sitting alone, and though it doesn't burn it affects your gravity. Your balance. Being with it could straighten your balance or throw you to the ground. It's a gamble with it yet being with the sun isn't a gamble at all as it bursts its negative energy immediately. Sunscreen… it doesn't help. The sun burns that too.

Even though it's been half an hour he still tries to call you. He was so apologetic Sunday night and even this morning. He didn't talk or make eye contact during your first 2 classes and Luna didn't either in your last class, though that isn't a surprise. He didn't want to be your friend in the first place, or anyone's friend for that matter. If he's been trying to contact you for this long it must be important. Yet you feel like if you picked up it would kill you.

You pace around the room for a little bit before placing your phone down on your bed and leaving to get some water. You swing open the cabinet and grasp onto the cold glass cup. You bring it down to almost set it on the counter but you twist it around in your hand to examine it. Relishing the cool feeling before your hands transfer their body heat to the glass, you then fill it with water, only to return the chill.

Expecting yourself to finish it in a matter of only a few large gulps, your throat only took a few sips. It tightened whenever you tried to drink more and you placed the full cup onto the counter. The metallic sink was matte, so you turned the handle to splash its sides with water. It now glistened. You're unsure why you did that, you won't ever be sure. Irrational situations turn a rational person- well, irrational. You can't stand to look into the sink any longer and make your way back into your bedroom. The phone calls had stopped. Your hand hovers over your phone but instead of picking it up to see exactly the number of failed attempts Solis made to contact you, you turned it off. Powered off.

You knew tomorrow would be hell if those new kids were anything like the twins. Who are you kidding, they're Midwestern theater kids, of course they will all be alike. Sure, the building is large enough and if you're willing to be late to some classes, you could avoid them with no problem. Solis seems to find you everywhere though. In every nook and cranny, in every cobweb sputtered hallway, in every place you can find solace, he finds you. It's like you're his obsession, his fixation that keeps his brain running. And it's only functioning on thoughts of you.

Why are you so special to him? You're just a kid he's barely known when there's so many other of his peers who seem so much more anticipated to talk to him. You're quiet around him and barely show any interest talking to him. He's that adamant, but why? Perhaps there is no reason why. Maybe, just maybe, there's something in you he understands that you don't know. But only one truly knows themselves and it would be of narcissistic sense for him to justify so. He's a decent guy but caked underneath volatile layers of being with the wrong crowd. A whiny prick who you tied his shoes for after the unspeakable glue incident. Rather him than his brother. He dares choke you then begs at your feet for acceptance? While, yes, a hyperbole, but ignorant so.

Your fingertips trace the top layer of your bedsheets and you rise to your feet. You need to brush your teeth, to dissolve the sour taste on your tongue. He only leaves a bad taste in your mouth now, and you are certain it will take months and years to forgive him.
