Chapter 8
"You're a fucking idiot." Sapnap met him with a hug, and Dream sighed into it, putting down his bag.
"I'm sorry. I'm not mad anymore. But it was a good break I think, staying with my Mom and sister." Dream said.
"Even if you're not mad." Karl's voice made Dream and Sapnap separate and Dream looked over his shoulder to see his other friend looking nervous. "I still want to apologise too."
"You don't have to. Sap already did, I understand why you guys lied."
"But we shouldn't have. You told me you felt like we were choosing sides and then we went and lied to you to hang out with George. I should have thought about it more, what it seems like. We weren't choosing sides, I promise. We just really hate seeing you so sad and to save your feelings we thought it would be best-" Dream cut Karl off with a hug.
"I know, Karl. I get it. I'm fine now, I forgive you guys." Dream said, and Karl hugged him back.
"I'm sorry."
"I know. Please stop apologising." Dream said.
"George won't be coming over here anymore. And we will be telling you anytime we are seeing him. We can't control whether you see him when you are out but-"
"Sapnap. It's not an issue." Dream turned back to his friend.
"George is thinking of moving anyways." Karl added, walking back over to Sapnap with a slight frown on his face. "So it may not even be an problem at all." But he sounded sad.
"No, he's not moving. I'm handling it, don't worry." Dream picked up his bag again and began walking to the stairs to his room. But after a few seconds Sapnap and Karl ran after him.
"How do you know?"
"What do you mean your handling it?"
"I mean." Dream turned around on the stairs to look at them. "That I'm handling it. George won't be moving, I'm going to be talking with him." He continued his walk.
"Sorry." Sapnap ran around to block him. "You're going to talk to him?"
"George came to my Mom's house to tell me he's moving. Long story short he's going to tell me what happened 4 years ago and if I forgive him, he stays." Dream said simply. Sapnap looked over his shoulder at Karl.
"And if you don't forgive him?" Karl asked softly.
"All I want is an explanation. There's nothing he could have done to make me hate him." Dream walked around Sapnap to the top of the stairs and continued to his room.
"Are you sure you want to know?"
"Of course. Like I said to George, whatever the truth is can't be as bad as whatever I've imagined." Dream entered his room and dumped the bag on the floor, sitting on his bed and pulling out his phone.
"What if you don't forgive him?" Karl asked again, looking at Dream with concern. Dream stared back.
"Did he do something horrible?"
"No, no not horrible."
"Did he cheat on me?"
"No! Of course not."
"Did he know I was going to propose and plan to break up with me at that exact moment to embarrass me?"
"What? Dream."
"Then it can't be that bad." Dream said, looking between his two concerned friends. "Seriously. Why are you so scared."
"You're not going to be furious with George." Karl sat down beside Dream. "But you might be more heartbroken."
