Julia walks outside to see Matt sitting on the porch step. As she suspected.

"Hey, you alright Matty?" Julia asks, taking a seat next to him. He looks up and forces a smile. "Never better," he says. Julia immediately know he was NOT okay. She sat up straighter and looked at him straight in the eyes.

"Matthew, i know you better than anyone. Whats going on?" His vision turns to her and soon the pair are staring straight into each-others eyes. The only thing Matt wants to say is how much he loves her, but only minutes ago he saw his brothers lips on hers. Matt places his stare back on the ground and takes a deep breath.

"Julia, i don't know why... but i- i- just," he stutters, struggling to release his words. "I saw you and Chris in the kitchen and i don't know, it just... freaked me out i guess." His words feel like swords to Julias heart.

"I don't understand, Matt. Why would you care... if i'm - i"m, with Chris?" she asks inhaling shakily. Matts gaze returns to Julia's eyes. "Your my best friend, seeing you with my brother is just... weird, alright?" His words sound almost violent.

"Matt c'mon, he told me he liked me and we kissed and now we're together... i don't see how it affects you. As a best friend, you should fucking look out for me." Julia scoffs and stands up. Matt doesn't look up from the ground, but all he wants is to tell her that he's in love with her. But he just can't.

"I'm sorry, Julia. I'm happy for you," he lies. She smiles and taps him on the shoulder so he looks up at her. "Your'e a good friend, Matt. I know you're just trying to look out for me, just be less of a jerk next time," she jokes. He places a fake smile on his face, as Julia returns inside.

All Matt can think about is those 5 words; 'you're a good friend, Matt.'

Great, he's just a friend.

Matt stays outside on the porch. He really isn't ready to come back inside after that conversation. The friend stays looking at the ground, wishing he was Chris right now.
