This chapter came out a bit more spicy then I intended, but you don't mind right?~
Ask no questions and you will be told no lies- Charles Dickens, Great Expectations
"Now where were we? ~"
The words drifted from his mouth. It took me a split second to recollect myself before responding.
"How do you know my mother?"
"Ah yes, direct and straight to the point. I like that in a woman,"
I raised my eyebrow expecting an answer to my question. Was this guy really trying to flirt with me right now? He seemed to notice my silence and went on, "Fine, fine. I'll answer your question, I was your mother's student actually."
I widened my eyes in surprise, this guy was my mother's student, really? I responded, "Hmmm I don't believe you." He leaned further into the table till his face was a few inches from mine, he spoke, "Well now we've only just met Y/n but here's one thing you should know about me.." He leaned in even further till his lips where close to my ear and I could feel his hot breath.
"I never lie."
I flushed at the close proximity, after he said that statement, he didn't back away he stayed there for a few seconds, just enough for goosebumps to engross my entire body. Soon finally he retreated to his seat admiring my flustered state.
"My, my you look a bit red in the cheeks, dear."
"Shut up." I briefly responded, recollecting myself slowly.
"Alright second question, what's a curse? Is that the same thing that killed my mother?"
"Hm, how to explain this... A curse is a kind of monster which is created by the negative emotions of human beings. Their primary aim or I guess you could say purpose is to bring harm to humanity,"
"Okay, so is that the same thing that killed my mother?"
"Well, that depends, what did the thing that killed your mother look like?"
"I don't remember any details but I guess you could say that it was big like about 13ft tall. It was purple as well and I think it had more than two eyes,"
"Yep, that's a curse for ya. They like to come in many gruesome different forms. Say, I have a question for you now. I mean it's only fair since you've already asked me a few,"
"Go on,"
"How did this curse die exactly? Did Celeste kill it or-"
"I killed it. Well to be more exact I slashed it with a knife and it died. Well, I think- it kinda exploded."
He choked on his tea, " You- what?! You killed it." And like that he burst into a fit of laughter, I looked at him, my face expressionless. After he calmed down, which took a few minutes, I took this opportunity to ask another question.
"Before my mother died, she said that not everyone can see these curses and those who do it is their duty to slay them to protect those who can't otherwise protect themselves,"
His eyes crossed over mine as many times as I look at them, I can't see them as anything but truly beautiful.
"Yes, people who can see curses and fight them are called sorcerers, jujutsu sorcerers to be exact,"
"What so you go around fighting curses with magic and stuff?"
"Well, I wouldn't go as far to call it magic. It's more like a technique, a cursed technique. These allow us to even the playing field a little bit and aid us in fighting curses. I suspect that the knife you killed a curse with was a cursed tool that your mother kept for emergencies."
He stretched his arms out, "So are those all your questions?"
I got up from my seat and walked over to him. It's time for a little payback, for my ego's sake.
"No, I have one more question,"
"Hmm?"
I grabbed his chin, brought his face close to mine and whispered into his ear,
"What happens now?"
