Chapter 13

Juni

After class, I was rethinking saying yes to going out with Adora. I have her Instagram now because I was hesitant about giving her my number. I'm so conflicted about what I should do that I feel like I shouldn't go out with her because what if she does something to me? I didn't want to bring it up to Lucas I didn't want him to worry or anything. So I called Ruby to come to my dorm so we can talk.

"Hey, girl I got some snacks and drinks," Ruby says as she walks into my dorm. She brought a whole bunch of candy and chips and juices. I started telling her how Adora wanted me to go out with her on Saturday and I said yes to that today... "Girl have you lost your mind do not go out with her she is crazy as hell," she says with wide eyes. "I just thought maybe she was being nice and felt bad...wait what do you mean she's crazy?" I said curiously "there was a rumor...where she thought some girl last year liked Lucas so she took her to the woods, and she and her minions, jumped her and left her there. Please Juni I know I don't know you that well but please tell her you can't go." Ruby had worry in her eyes as she said that. Before I could answer I heard a knock at the door. I looked at Ruby confused and went and answered the door it was Lucas.

He greeted me with a kiss almost dress in his football gear. "I just wanted to tell you bye before I go." I smile at him he looks past me and sees Ruby sitting on my bed giving her a wave and she waved back looking between the both of us. "Well ill see you Monday," I say as I reach up kissing again. Lucas knows I don't really like football games but he wants me to go to at least one of them one day. He left and I turned back to ruby smiling at me. "Oh so y'all getting serious," she says smiling ear to ear. "Yea we are but I think ima take your word about Adora and tell her I can't go." I texted Adora after I told Ruby. She did a sigh of relief when I showed her the text. "Good because she is bad news steer clear of her."

Me and Ruby kept talking she told me about the girl were messing with and the girls she had crushes on. We talked about a tv show we were both watching as well. We talked almost all night before she got up and left and went home. I wasn't sleepy at all Ruby left some of the candies at my dorm she said if she took it all back with her she would eat it all.

The next day

I woke up late that afternoon I didn't mind too much about me waking up late since it was the weekend I woke up to Lucas telling me good morning. I called him and he was so excited that he won his game last night he said Jayvontae had been taunting him last night. I told him not to play into his silly games. "So you're at your brother's apartment right?" I said stirring away from the conversation about Jayvontae. "Yea I'm watching his house while he goes and checks on his business in Miami. He owns a restaurant down there." he sounded proud of his brother and his accomplishments. "That's good...." I got a little tongue-tied I didn't know what to say. "Yea he lets me come over here anytime though bc he rarely is here he be with his girlfriend or he's traveling." That's interesting I wonder if he goes there often....

I talked to Lucas till it started getting dark outside. I went and took a shower and got dressed in my night clothes to just relax.
I got a little hungry so I headed to the cafeteria to get myself something to eat. The cafeteria is open 24/7 on the weekends. So I headed to the cafeteria and got myself some food I was going to eat in the cafeteria but I just wanted to watch some tv while eating so I headed back to my dorm. As I was walking I felt someone behind me I looked back and saw no one... Maybe I was just being paranoid. I turned around to see Jayvontae "Hey juni," he said with an eerie smile that gave me the creeps. "Uhm hi..." I tried to move past him but had blocked my path. "Why are you in such a rush, are you trying to get to your precious boyfriend?" He was now close to my face I could see the dark purple bruise on his nose. I was starting to get scared I didn't want to have a panic attack I haven't had one for like a year. "Please move." I tried to move him out of the way and he grabbed me by the arm harshly making me yelp "LET ME GO" I screamed he didn't even answer me he just gripped me tighter when I tried to fight he walked me to this blue car and I saw Adora and her minions come out of the car with role and duck tape. Jayvontae moved me to the front of him with both of his hands gripping my arms. "Aww Juni you look scared we're not going to hurt you I just want to send Lucas a message," Adora said, my mind was racing I thought she was going to take me to the woods and beat me up or something. She duck-taped my mouth then my wrist I tried to fight but Jayvontae was digging into my arms she then tied me up and threw me in the trunk. I was just so scared I felt like I couldn't breathe my arms were still pounding from Jayvontae's grip on me. I didn't even know where we were going I was just scared for my life.......
