Lucy’s POV:
I had just received a text from Liam “I’ll be there in a few, I have had an eventful morning, Danielle walked out on me…” I read it and gasped a little. By now Harry had looked over my shoulder and read the text. “Umm…Do you think we should call him?” Harry quietly asked. I nodded and quickly found Liam’s number in my contact list. I clicked on it and listened as it rang. As soon as it picked up I put it on loud speaker. “Hello.” His voice sounded sad, “Hey Liam, its Lucy and Harry. I got your text, don’t worry about coming to the workshop, we can do that another time.” I sympathetically told him. I heard crying on the other end of the phone “I called her selfish, she thinks I’m too caring...” he sobbed. “Why do I have to be so fucking stupid!” he said through gritted teeth. “Liam, calm down, I’ll call the boys, we will all come around to your place. Stay there and don’t do anything stupid” I tried to be supportive but strict at the same time. “Okay…” he replied. I heard loud sobs coming from the speakers on my phone; my heart ached knowing he was upset. “I love you…” I whispered, “I love you too Lucy” he replied with, calming down a little bit. I hung up and looked over at Harry, “We need to get the rest of the boys down to Liam’s so do you want to call them?” He simply nodded and got off the table and walked over to his backpack.
Harry’s POV:
As I was walking over to my bag, I began to worry about Liam. He rarely cried and when he did it was only because something serious has happened. I texted the boys in a group and they all didn’t reply but read the conversation, in our language that means “We are already on our way” or “too busy to reply” I smiled and walked back over to Lucy. “They are on their way!” I said shooting a look into her eyes.
She looked scared, worried. I could tell that tears were just about to spill down her cheeks. I took her hand and gently pulled her off the table. “Let’s go” I quietly whispered as I intertwined my fingers with hers. I knew this would comfort her, her shoulders dropped.
I walked her out to the car and got her inside. We were soon driving to Liams, it was a good half an hour away. I felt the need to make small talk with the beautiful girl sitting to my left. She was quite gorgeous; I hated to see her cry. “So, Lucy, do you know if this guy likes you yet?” I asked trying to lighten the mood. She shook her head, “I know he doesn’t, it’s really obvious that he is friend-zoning me.” She stated. I huffed. “I’m sure if you just told him that you like him that maybe his actions would change. Why don’t you text him now?”
Lucy’s POV:
“I’m sure if you just told him that you like him that maybe his actions would change. Why don’t you text him now?” his raspy voice echoed. This situation is going to get more awkward if I texted Harry, although he would never find out unless someone told him I let out a large sigh “Fine.” I got out my phone and clicked his number without him seeing, I texted “I’m sorry if I totally fuck this friendship up but, Harry, I have a massive crush on you <3” I begrudgingly pressed ‘send’. A few seconds later his phone rumbled. I pretended to act like I was still texting so it wouldn’t be as awkward. He unlocked his phone and read the text.
Suddenly, the car was pulled to a halt on the side of the road. He looked over at me with a gobsmacked look on his face. I put my phone in my lap and looked into his eyes. “L-Lucy…” he stuttered. “I honestly didn’t know you felt this way. I wish you had told me earlier, I’m really sorry” he calmly spoke as he leant across the seat and pulled me into his arms. I sighed, breathing in his lovely scent that made my brain go all warm and fuzzy.
“There is nothing to be sorry about Harry; I guess I was just scared of the way that you felt.” I felt him gulp in my shoulder. “I haven’t been sure about my feelings lately” he muffled as he pulled out of the hug. “Taylor fucked up my brain, I haven’t really known who I like, or who makes me feel warm and loved. But I have known you for so long now; I know you would make me happy.” He smiled towards the end of his sentence, I smiled back. He took hold of my hand “Lucy, do you want to go out with me?” He said sincerely looking deeply into my blue orbs.
By this time my tears had stopped running, I was smiling intently. I nodded my head, unable to speak words. He, yet again, pulled me into a hug. His scent filled my senses as I relaxed into his grasp. He pulled away, leaving a small kiss to my cheek; I blushed a bright pink colour as Harry revved the engine.
We soon arrived at Liam’s; I burst the car door open and ran to the door. I knocked twice as Louis came to answer it. I ran inside and found Liam sitting on the lounge room floor crying his heart out. I ran over and pulled him into my warm embrace “Lucy” he sobbed into my shoulder. I held his head close to me, I wanted to calm him down, just let him know that everything will be okay.
We soon dropped our arms and sat next to each other. He looked into my eyes. “Liam, it will be okay. Danielle will sort things out, don’t worry!” I comforted. He put on a small smile to try and stop the tears falling down his cheeks. “Can you call her for me?” He asked in a small voice. I simply nodded and got out my phone. I took hold of Harry’s hand as I exited the lounge room, dragging Harry along with me. We walked into Liam’s room and sat on the bed. “Before I do this, I want you to know that you didn’t have to ask me out. I just thought that now was the right time to tell you how I really felt about you.” He nodded and replied “Well, I think it is awesome that you finally told me! I have known you for 2 years now and we haven’t been too close, but I know now that I do have feelings for you and I can honestly say that I am happy.” He walked over and sat next to me kissing my cheek, he lingered a little before whispering into my ear, “I want our first kiss to be special, it will come, don’t worry” his warm breath tickled in my ear. I bit my lip as he kissed my cheek again.
I listened to the ringing noise coming from the phone, Danielle picked up. “Hello, this is Danielle” she sweetly answered. “Hey Dani, this is Lucy. How are you?” I tried to sound calm and happy. “Oh, I’m fine. I’m guessing your ringing to talk to me about Liam and what has happened earlier?” she asked her tone darkening from the sweet one that answered. “If that is okay, I just want you to know that I am here for you too, no matter what, we are friends too!” I comforted her, letting her know it was okay to talk to me and that I wasn’t all on Liam’s side. “Well, let’s just say that he is starting to get on my nerves a little” she explained “How so?” I replied. “I don’t want to sound self-centred or anything, that’s what Liam thinks of me as now” She sniffled “But Liam is just too…..ugh… caring! He constantly seems to be asking me, Are you okay? Do you need anything? I’ll do it! Instead of me being independent and doing things for myself. I don’t think he seems to realize that it is getting on my nerves and to be honest Lucy, I just can’t take it anymore!!” She started to cry. “Danielle…” I trailed off “That is just in Liam’s nature to be like that! I don’t think he can change it either. I think the best thing for you to do right now would be to come over and talk to him. He is worried sick about you and doesn’t know what is going on in your relationship! He is a wreck to be honest and he needs to hear, from you, what is happening.” I quietly spoke, not trying to sound angry. “O-Okay. I will be around soon, maybe 30 minutes. I’ll see you then” I nodded, “Alright Danielle.” I spoke. “Oh and Lucy?” she asked “Yes.” I replied. “Thankyou darling, I really appreciate you caring about me!” She honestly said. “Of course Danielle! Us girls have to stick together!” I tried to lighten the conversation. “Haha, okay, bye, see you soon” She said hanging up. “Bye”
