"Rise and shine! Come on, you two! Get up! It's time for the big day!"
I groan at the sound of my mother and my soon-to-be mother-in-law. I open my eyes and I see my mom, Angel, and the two girls that I do not know but are my bridesmaids. Fuck, I shouldn't have drank so much. I blame Miyuki.
I sit up and stretch, yawning loudly. "Okay, you're up. Time to prep." My mom yanked me out of bed and threw me in the bathroom.
"Take a shower and we'll head to the church for hair and makeup." I groan but I take my shower and after 20 minutes, I changed into an oversized off white sweater, sweatpants, and white flip-flops. I threw my hair in a messy bun and come out of the bathroom. Mom frowns at me.
"Rosalina, can't you dress a little nicer? It is your wedding day, after all."
"Who am I looking beautiful for? I'm getting beautified later. So, let me be ugly and comfortable right now," I retaliate. Mom sighed.
"Whatever. Let's get going." I walk out of the house with Miyuki on my arm and my two bridesmaids next to her. We drove to the church since I was getting ready and everything there. Once inside the dressing room, I sat down and everyone was working on something on me. Someone was curling my hair, someone was doing my makeup, someone was doing my nails. Someone was doing something. After my hair and makeup were done, I was able to see myself and I was shocked. Wow. I looked really pretty. My mom gasped and placed her hand on my shoulder.
"Baby girl. You look fantastic. I can't believe you're getting married."
"Even though it's arranged, right?" I asked. She sighed.
"Yes, even though it's arranged. Honey, come on in here and see your daughter." I turn to see my dad limp in and he smiles at me, weakly. I was about to cry off my new face.
"Hey, sweetheart," he said weakly. I smile weakly and wave awkwardly. He sighed and walked over to me with a box in his hand.
"I know you don't want to do this but I want to walk you down the aisle before I pass. So, your mother and I want you to have this." He took out a box from his pocket and opens it to reveal a snowflake hairpin.
"Your mother wore it. On our wedding day."
"It's a family tradition. My mother wore it, and her mother, and her mother. Your first family heirloom." The stylist placed it in my hair and I sighed.
"It's beautiful. It completes the look and I love it. Thank you, both." I hug my parents and Angel comes over with a big dress bag.
"Now, it's time for the best part. The dress!" I smiled because I really do love the dress.
Angel unzipped it and I never get tired of staring at it. It's so perfect. My mom ushered my dad out and all the guy stylists. I stepped into my dress, with my ivory snowflake-covered heels, snowflake studs, the snowflake pin, my eye makeup was decorated like a snow queen, my nails spelled Let It Snow, bright red lips, and a snow-like shawl to complete the look. The veil was placed on my head and mom handed me my bouquet. I take a look at myself in the mirror and I smile. This may be forced but I look amazing.
