Chapter 6 ~ "Seriously?!"

After the incident at dinner Addy thought it would be best to let Skylar rest, so they stayed at Buckingham Palace, Will and Kate decided to stay as well to keep them company.

They had just tucked the kids into bed and were now sitting in the drawing room of the apartment that they were staying in.

As soon as Addy sank into the couch, she let her guard down and tears began pouring down her face.

"Rose.." Kate said sympathetically as she reached over to hold her hand.

"I'm sorry..." Addy cried, "I've just been holding everything in for the past few days."

"It's okay to cry Rosie. You don't have to be strong all the time." Will said as he sat beside her and pulling her into a hug.

"I hate that woman, I hate her so much. I try not to, because I know hating is wrong, but I can't help it. She sold stories about me, that weren't even true, causing thousands of people to hate me. She yells at me in front of millions of people, and again made it seem like it was my fault. Now she's bullying my daughter, who is completely innocent in all of this. How do I explain to a sweet, little, six year old, who wants everyone to be happy and get along, that this woman just wants to hurt people for no reason? Skylar asked me earlier, what she did to make Meghan not like her and I didn't have an answer, because she hasn't done anything." Addy said angrily.

"We'll talk to Pa in the morning about what we can do to keep her away from you and Skylar. Try not stress, everything will alright." William said trying to calm his friend.

"He's right, we'll figure something out." Kate asked with her husband.

Addy nodded slowly and wiped her tears.

"You know, I have this thought in my head and I can't seem to stop thinking about it." William mumbled.

"What's that?" Addy asked.

"If she's willing to do everything that she's done to you and Skylar, in front of our family and in front of millions of people." He took a deep breath, "What has she been doing to Harry and their children behind closed doors?"

Addy nodded slowly, "I thought about that, when Harry and the kids first got here. He was so reluctant to let them out of his sight, and then when we were outside Archie wouldn't even talk the other kids when they tried to include him, he just sat quietly beside me the whole time."

Kate shook her head, "I can't even let my mind go there. Harry used to be so care free and now he hardly ever smiles. And Archie and Lilibet are so young, it pains me to think that she might be mistreating them, even if it's just a few harsh words here and there, that can be detrimental to a child."

They sat in silence for a few moments before Addy decided to change the subject.

"How cute was it when Charlotte and George started singing to cheer Skylar up?"

"It was adorable. I love how much they care about each other." Kate said with a smile.

"They remind me of us when we were young." William says as he looked at Addy who nodded in agreement.

"George acts like you, the big brother who wants to protect them at all costs. Lottie acts like me, she's in charge, constantly making sure that everyone behaves and does what their told." She paused, "And Skylar reminds me so much of Harry that it scares me at times. She loves to make people laugh, often hiding her own feelings until she can't anymore."

"Let's hope that they don't turn out like us."

"I don't know, if they end up like you two I think they can consider themselves lucky." Addy grinned.
