Chapter 7.) What to do

Marinette's P.O.V.

"U Know, I'm really sorry that this has been happening to u. I Really am Marinette." (Zoe is a street actress who ran away from Chloe & her family's bloodline) Zoe said as she was closing her stand for the night. "Don't worry about it, I just need to figure out what I'm gonna do." Alya came to me putting her hands on my shoulders, "Girl, u can't lie about this. U gotta tell them the truth & u know that's the only option." "I know, but I never wanted any of this to happen. Anyways, I gotta go home. They're expecting me to return." I grabbed my wagon & started to head off. "GOOD LUCK MARINETTE!" All waving goodbyes to me.

Went through wet parts of the jungle, passed a mountain, went onto the oldest path paved by my people for easy access of traveling. My village...My home. Walking by to see my neighbors happy & warm with their families big & small to them being old & young. I stopped to look up, flashbacks of memories growing up, how my father would have me on his shoulders up the hill with my mother happy & our home smelling so wonderfully...How I wanted those things to never end, knowing it won't ever be the same. I got back into reality & headed right up to my home.

"Oh, I see a little bug waddling back!" I could hear my Grandpa from the window. "What bug are u talking about Dad? My wife made sure there'd be no bugs at night." "Tom, he's talking about your daughter." With my Yaya as well. I could already hear footsteps running to the door. "MARINETTE IS BACK!" My little cousin screamed as he ran to me & hugged my tight along with his older sister! "HI GUYS! Yes I'm back" I said getting all the love I get. The rest of my family came & gave me huge hugs (a lot of us, but we love it together.) "Mari, Stevie ate Potato bugs earlier & it was disgusting." Connie told me (Older cousin on Mom's side) "Did he really? Eww!" "I know right, he didn't even care when I told him & his buddies they came from Monkey ears." Marsh (Connie & Stevie's older brother) told me as he helped me get up, I wanted to look for my parents. "ALRIGHTY! Move aside, her birth givers are coming through!" My Mom said pushing them out of the way with my Dad to give me a hug. "Welcome back sweetheart" My father said to me & my Mom kissed me on the cheek. "Hey Connie, u guys wanna check this out?" "What?" "Stevie wanted to show u guys something." "Oh cool! Mari, u comin along?" "Actually, I wanna be with my parents. Maybe I'll tag along with u guys." "Oh okay, just thought about it. But it seems like u had a long day already." Connie went upstairs with her siblings along with my Uncle & Aunts. "Yeesh, I'm tired already." "So am I" "Me too" "& Me as well. Good to see that u're back safe my little bug." I smiled, seeing all my grandparents go to their room for bed with all of them saying goodnight before shutting the door.

Author's Notes

Okay, I had to give u guys a break. Why u may ask? It's because with this current dynamic with Marinette's family kind of confusing for some of u (If it's easy to understand, that great!), I'd be glad to break it down for u.

Lets start with her Father's Side. So, he has both of his parents together in this story & he has 2 siblings living with them. Roland & Gina (Grandpa & Yaya) had Tom (Marinette's Father), Derick, & Opal .

Now to her Mother's Side. Marinette's grandparents also live with them & she only has 1 sibling that has 3 children. Li Jie & Ài (Nǎinai & Yéyé) Had Hua (pronounced as Khwah) (who lost her husband from a jaguar attack 5 years in the past & has 3 children named Marsh - 22, Connie - 19, & Stevie - 12) & Sabine (Marinette's Mother).

All of them were able to live in the same household. The grandparents sharing a room but have 2 beds for them. Derick, Marsh, & Stevie share a bedroom. Opal, Hua, & Commie also share a bedroom. Tom & Sabine have their own bedroom as it was Roland & Gina's old room before. Marinette has her own room that has a small but cute balcony to it.

Leaders of each village have a little bit more respect but not that much of course to the Ruler of the Empire, so their home are a bit better & a bit bigger than average homes in each Village.

Marinette's P.O.V.

"So how was it honey?" My Mom asked "Yeah, what did the Emperor want?" with my Dad tagging along. I cleared my throat, cause I knew that this wasn't gonna end good. "U know, I was a little disappointed with him today. He couldn't see me." "What?" Both in shock "Why was that Marinette?" He asked me, I couldn't help it, but I didn't want the truth to come out. "I honestly don't know. But u gotta think he-" "That was just straight up rude of him!" With my Mother cutting me off with rage in her voice "Well he is the Emperor. I'm sure he didn't mean to sound rude-" I couldn't help but try to destress the situation, as I'm usually the one who calms any of the adults in this house. "No no no no! If Emperor or no Emperor, it's called common curtesy Sweetie. If I were u, I'd march right back there & demand to see him & u both know that I would!" "Sabine, honey. Try to relax." My Mother stormed to the kitchen as me & my Father try to calm her down, but she just stopped. Everything just stayed still & all u can hear was the rest of the family upstairs having fun. "Look, I know that your father & I aren't as young as we use to be, but that doesn't mean we aren't weak. I'd still give that boy a piece of my mind, he wasn't this bad when he was little & everything was so good with our empire years ago." She turned back around all calm & walked over to me giving me a warm hug with a peck on the cheek. "I'm just glad u're home & safe. I'll go take care of these." Walking back to the kitchen where the dishes were.

I looked at everything that was in our home, it brought even more memories I didn't want to forget. From Stevie being born in the living room, to when I lost first tooth & was so proud to show my parents, to all of us just being together as a whole. I felt light tears trickling down my face as I looked at my Mom, she was washing plates in the sink with the soapy water all over the sink. I think it was just how peaceful she was as that was a way of coping other than cooking. I felt an arm wrap around my shoulders to look up & see my Father next to me. "Are u okay Marinette? U sure nothing bad happened to u today?" He looked concern, but I held onto him tightly cause his hugs are always the warmest & tender to me like hugging a giant teddy bear. "I'm alright. I just love seeing Mom at peace, but I'm also tired from the trip. I'm gonna be in my room, is that okay?" He gave a warm smile as he lets me go "Of course dear" & walks over to her. I headed upstairs with 2 sacks of stuff & saw the rest of the family looking out of a window across the hallway. They looked like they were having fun, laughing at jokes & playing around with the fireflies.

So I come into my room, not too messy but enough to know the type of passion someone's in. Nice peach pink with splats of color, yarn on my bed with all different sizes of needles on my dresser along with my projects around here & there, & nice handmade curtain on my window as he gentle breeze blows through. I looked at the mirror, seeing how sweaty & tired I was, but the linger of doubt pops in my head. Should I really tell the truth or should I keep lying to them? What was I thinking, lying to them thinking everything was fine! WE'RE GONNA BE HOMELESS SOON! I sighed & Just drop the light sack to the ground & went through my window to my balcony.

When I got there, I felt the fresh air hitting my skin & all I can see was the rest of the village with beautiful dazzling stars under night sky. I decided to drop the other sack I had in my hand onto the bench I had on my balcony.

All of a sudden *Animal Groan* I heard when the heavier sack plopped on the bench. What did I get that was alive? I could've sworn I grabbed some food & other crocheting stuff before I got home.

So what could it be?
