- 1st Person
I have gotten closer to Jay after that day. It was nice to listen to his rambling after a hard day of training, as I only listened on in interest of his inventions. I hardly have anything interesting to say about my own efforts of creating something. The only efforts I put in for my life were to just get payed enough from my storytelling to at least live a day without begging and keeping account of how many beers I drink every time I used to go to the tavern when I do get a moderate amount of currency to celebrate my achievement.
So here I am now, sitting across from Jay in a chair of the dining table, staring into the abyss of my reflection in his eyes as his mouth moved, but I had heard no words coming out of it. I felt tired, exhausted even, for heavens knows why.
Sighing as I rested my head upon the table, I surrounded my arms around my head in a criss crossed position, as my eyes shut, not even bothering to listen in to Jay's words anymore. No offense Jay.
Sighing deeply, I let sleep overtake me.
Waking up to a poke to my cheek was not what I had expected. I slowly picked my head up from my position, feeling a blanket covering my figure from the shoulder down. Smiling slightly I subconsciously knew it was Cole who had put it on me.
'Wait a minute, who poked me on the cheek-' My questioning thoughts were cut off by a delicate and warm voice that belonged to yet another boy who I would assumed to have joined us in our training to be Ninja.
"I assume you are [Name]?"
He was wearing a black jacket with a white pattern on the upper half of it. He had white blonde hair that went upwards in a slick way. If I'm being honest, he looked adorable.
I nodded to his question, finally looking in his eyes. It held a sense of... mystery and life behind them. The nearly glowing eyes gazed into mine.
I nodded to his question. "And you are?" I questioned him, just as he did to me, as my left eye brow raised in slight suspicion as Sensei Wu had not told me, but then again, it is Sensei Wu. He holds secrets even a lie detector cannot dig out.
"My name is Zane. Sensei Wu had bought me here not too long ago to help me train to become a Ninja." He declared proudly, like a little kid who had just successfully made their own friend for the first time. I smiled warmly towards him.
"Well then Zane, why did you poke me when I was peacefully sleeping.?" I grinned towards him playfully, though he didn't really seem to catch on with my joking, as he apologized sincerely.
"Oh uh.. well then.. uhm.. have you met the team yet?" I asked him almost hesitantly. He seemed quite.. strange and a bit too overliteral and dense, although I shouldn't be the one to call him out, as I am basically a parent to a dragon and a blue cat. If anything, I'm the weird one..
He simply shook his head in denial, keeping his gaze on mine, which kind of freaked me out if I'm being honest. It was like he was secretly judging me for my looks or something, and I couldn't even know what exactly he was thinking off.
"Well, let's meet the team!" I strained through my throat, intending to sound excited, placing my hands on my hips. "Let's go!" I exclaimed, walking to where I'd assume the other two are, before looking over my shoulder to see Zane still there, just staring off into the distance.
'Huh, strange.' I shook my head in confusion and slight assessment, before dragging Zane gently by the hand towards the gaming room, opening to door to see Cole and Jay sleeping on the floor. 'Huh. It must be really late then..' I thought, putting a finger to my chin in thought.
"Well Zane, I guess you have to wait until tomorrow!" I exclaimed quietly, looking over to see Zane, once again looking in the distance, through the window. I too looked out the window in curiosity to see a dark brown falcon perched upon the wall of the Monastery, though I could barely see it since the Falcon barely blended in perfectly with the dark, night sky full of mystery.
It let out a call in the night, as I kept my eyes on the figure as it flew off into the mysterious night. I looked back to Zane to see him still staring blankly at where the Falcon was, like he was hypnotized or something. I sighed as I had no idea what to do, so I just grabbed the blanket that I had just noticed that was still on my shoulder, and placing it on Zane's shoulder.
"Zane, I'd suggest you go sleep. It wouldn't be very good for you if you are tired and you are training." I scolded him slightly, as he simply slammed his eyes shut, standing up, then and there after having made contact with the blanket.
How strange.
'Huh. I'm surprised Zane could see the Falcon in just a single millisecond, yet I had to strain my eyes to see it. How truly strange. Well, I at least hope my next teammate isn't going to be dramatic as the others... hopefully.'
A/n: i'm sorry if this is short (◞‸◟ㆀ), i just couldn't think of any ideas with zane and [name] interaction, but i did have suggestions like cooking and bonding over falcon, but yeah- jay sorta already got the cooking bonding thingy already so i just did a small falcon scene and i wanted something original with every ninja so yeah.🧍🏻♀️i hope you enjoyed this chapter and don't forget to drink water, eat food and sleep regularly. love you all 🫶 <3
