My heels clicked on the floor as I walked into my supervisors office. He was an old man with grey hairs on his head plus a suit. He looked pretty good looking for an old man. He smiled at her while he stretched his hand to greet her.

"You must be Alexa?" he asked.

I shook his hand and smiled back and nodded. "Yes I am sir"

"Nice to meet you , am Nikolai Sanchez" he sat and gestured for me to do the same. He continued, "So I'll go straight to details since today is a busy day for me , the rules are simple, one is Don't mess up with the money"

Obviously, because this was a bank after all.

he continued signing some papers on his desk.
"Understood" I replied.

"Joan will guide you but not for long because as I said today is a busy day" immediately after a lady , young as me took me out of the office. The rest of the next fifteen minutes were , introduction to some people and showing me  some important places such as the café and some referral rooms and lastly the loo.

" That'll be your counter" I  looked at the small space allocated for me and smiled. Putting my stuff on the small table I entered the small cubicle and made myself at home.

After two hours of helping some customers, although I  was clumsy as fuck, I  had helped a number. Now this would be my last customer before going to lunch break since I was starving.

" Hello sir, how may I help you today" I ask the young hot guy in a suit that stood out in the whole room. A few of my colleagues looked at me fearfully which made me wonder what was the deal.

"Withdrawal" his sexy voice replied making me shiver a tinsy weeny bit. He took out a check which he placed on the counter. My sweaty palms stretched to take the check and deal with it and send him off. He was so freaking intimidating. Even the way he looked at her ,gave her the chills.

"Thankyou and welcome again" I finished off with him. He gave me one last look and walked away.

That was weird in all ways. How did he outstand so much to me and in the bank.

Or whatever, why should I care, as long as he didn't affect my working conditions ,I didn't care. The day passed by fast as if it never happens. The worst thing about today was that the bank would close late. Till six thirty but only on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Lunch had been an easy chase since Joan had shown her a spot right outside the bank which was amazing.

Joan Belmore, a wife and mother. Who is married to her highschool love. All this shocked me since she was 24 an year older than me yet already married.
I never believed in highschool love since I was a stupid bitch and running other people's lives was my priority. I was the only fucked and that's it, nothing more, just a simple fuck and our interaction ended there. I only improved my behavior when I was in my second year after I ruined a girls life.

But that's a story for another day. Yeah another day.

I shook my head as I skipped from the bed and pushed my highschool thoughts away from me. I cooked and watched the boring TV. I needed friends or I would die of boredom.
My phone ringed just as I finished washing my plate.

"Hello mom?"

"Hi, am calling you to tell you that we're okay" she answered. Why would she call me to tell me she was okay. Was there any trouble or problem I  didn't know of??

"Why? Why won't you be ok?" last time I checked everything was okay.

"Check the national news"  she replied which some hint of anger in her tone. Why the fuck was she angry?

Ugh, pregnant women.

I switched to national news only to get the shock of my evening. Our house was on fire and a few of others but ours was in complete ruins not even a shred of clothes could be seen. Even the front yard and the grass was black. I could see cop cars around the area. My heartbeat picked up the pace as tiny tears stinger my eyes.

"God mom, am so sorry , I didn't know this I just had a tough day at w-" she cut me off sensing my panic.

"It's ok Alex , we're fine and I understand" she answered politely. After confirming everything and making sure even Nika was ok , I hung up.  I ran to the internet to get a good  look up close.
Something just doesn't add up.
