Exploring the museum in pewter city, caught up in examining a fossil of a winged Pokémon. Red turned, looking at something pass by before taking my hand.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"I'm going to challenge brock!"
---
"You wanna battle against brock NOW?" A ginger girl outside the gym scoffed. "You're a million lightyears away from being ready for that."
"I was told to learn the basics of battle.. from gym leaders." Red seemed puzzled. "Listen, how long have you been with your Pokémon?" A male asked.
"Five days." Red said.
"Uhh.." "SERIOUSLY?! and you wanna battle brock NOW? That's very funny don't make me laugh." The girl waved her hand. "Your girlfriend might stand a chance because of her bulbasaur but you've got a huge disadvantage." She snarked.
"I'm not his-" "they're my guests." The sliding doors opened, revealing a tan man with spiky dark brown hair and closed eyes. "I invited the kid with the hat."
"What? Seriously, brock?" The male asked as the duo looked in shock. He simply stood, arms crossed and grinning. Red stumbled forwards, and I tailed him.
"What, you mean YOU'RE brock?" Red awed. "Don't talk like that to a gym leader!" The two at the door scolded. "That's right, I'm pewter city's gym leader, brock." He put his hands on his hips.
"And what's your names?" Brock asked. "Its red, this is y/n, my childhood friend and travel partner." He said. I waved, smiling. "Nice to meet you, brock."
"So, do you have an answer for the question I asked earlier?" Brock smiled. These two had met before? Must've been when I wasn't around.. "no, but it's because of that I've come here." Red replied.
Brock crossed his arms again. "Alright, then."
We were led into a large rook with stone floor panels, and large rocks scattered about on the ground that wasn't covered. "Have you got any badges?" Brock asked. "Badges? No, I don't have any." Red looks to the taller male.
"I see, well then." Brock walked away from red as a panel of the wall slid up. A tray of Pokéballs slid out, brock grasping one in each hand. "I'll battle you with these two Pokémon."
"With two?"
"My specialty is battling with rock type Pokémon." Brock threw a ball, releasing a geodude. "Okay, I'm counting on you." Red released his charmander.
I flinched, red did have a type advantage here.
Let's just hope he can pull through.
---
Red had managed to take down Brock's geodude, but his onix proved to be a challenge. Red's charmander managed to outspeed brock's onix, leaving him victorious.
Red was handed a badge, along with a TM for bide. When we exited the gym, red took my hand and set off at a run, pulling me along with him.
He smiled in glee. "I got my first badge!" He cheered, and I laughed. "You did!"
"Im proud of you, red."
