Everything in this life usually starts with an arrow from Cupid, according to ancient Greek and Roman mythology, it's he who makes us fall in love. Though I never thought of it that way, falling in love is more of a chemistry produced in our brains that makes us see everything too bright, pink, and too sugary.
With this arrow, with this chemistry, we fall in love and make decisions; Bringing a new being into the world is usually the decision most taken in couples of different sexes. This is how life begins.
First act, we are babies unable to fend for ourselves, we need constant help from those who care for us, wretched beings in the clutches of a poisoned world. We cry, eat, defecate, sleep and the cycle repeats itself endlessly until we grow to childhood.
The second act, childhood. We still need help, but this time we eat, defecate and sleep on our own, no matter how much the elders always pester us with "Sleep soon or the wolf will eat you". We begin to see the world with eyes full of curiosity, we try what is unknown to us, we fail and we try again. We get hurt, we hurt ourselves, but that doesn't stop us as children from continuing to try, fail and try. Even so, childhood is not the best stage, we are vulnerable. Vulnerable to psychological damage, vulnerable to those who want to harm us, we are defenseless little ones to the vast world around us and its ruthless humans. Children are sponges, they absorb everything they see and experience, the good and the bad. It is this very thing that makes us most defenseless, not being able to defend ourselves from the bad and the good. However, as babies that they are, having a life ahead of them, they will not allow themselves to be sullied. It is hope that keeps them going. With that hope, they take life by the hand and reach puberty.
Third stage was puberty and adolescence. I write and because puberty is the step before adolescence. Puberty is that reality check that hopeful children with life in their hands wake up and lose the glow they once had. Everything they looked at curiously disappears like dust from autumn leaves. But life in their hands slips away, little by little... It is thus, in this cruel way, that they enter adolescence. Adolescents are still children, without hope, but they continue to be. They will absorb everything around them even more, with the only difference being their second stage. This time they have the power of words and feelings to attack and defend themselves. They won't hesitate to hurt you back if they think you deserve it, if they think they're doing it right, if from their perspective what they see with their gray eyes with bluish tones is wrong. They feel discomfort, they feel anger and a lot of anger... They are naturally angry. Because what was promised never came, it was never fulfilled. The lies of a sweet future forever corrupted their minds, my sanity. Everything, absolutely everything has lost meaning since my adolescence. Following this, I entered adulthood, or nearly so.
