i wake up by soft kisses on my lips. "rodrigo," i mumble. "i have to wake you up, or else you'll wake up at 8pm again," she says, laughing as she gives me one more kiss. "what time is it?" i ask. "nine," she responds. "nine? couldn't you have woken me up at ten, or ten thirty? or eleven?" i whine. "awh, boo hoo," she says. "shut up, i'm dying," i say. "you shut up," she says. i chuckle and stand up, walking to the bathroom.
i take off my shirt, picking up the tweezers. "aren't you meant to leave stitches in for longer than 2 days?" olivia asks. "yeah, but i'm spider-woman," i say. olivia laughs, "okay, spider-woman."
i take out all the stitches, looking at the cut in mirror. "already better," i say. "what?" olivia asks, from the bedroom. "nothing, just talking to myself," i say. she laughs, and i put my shirt back on, walking out.
i walk to olivia as she sits at the desk, composition book open in front of her. she had a few sentences written down. "wanna go out for breakfast?" she asks. "sure," i respond. "okay, get changed," olivia says. "why're you already changed?" i ask, looking at olivia's outfit, "are you going somewhere?" "because we're going out for breakfast." "what if i said no?" "i'd go by myself then," she says. "that's sad," i chuckle. "well, i knew you would say yes, that's why," she says, laughing too.
i open the door for olivia, putting my glasses on. "thanks," she gets in. i close the door, walking to the other side. "so, where do you wanna eat?" i ask, starting up the engine. "anywhere's okay," she says. "we'll drive around," i say.
i start to drive around, olivia and i looking at the restaurants. olivia eventually finds one, and i park near the restaurant, getting out first. i walk to the other side, opening the car door for olivia. "every time," she laughs, getting out, "thank you." "you're welcome," i smile. we walk into the shop, sitting down.
after eating, i pay, and olivia and i walk out. "do you wanna go shopping for a bit?" i ask. "yeah, okay," olivia says. i open the car door for olivia, and she gets in.
we walk into the mall, looking around. "where do you wanna go?" i ask olivia. "over here," she says, holding my hand. i look around, seeing quite a lot of people. i look down at our hands, looking back up. olivia guides us into a clothes store, letting go of our hands as she scans the rack. she picks out a few tops, a sweater too.
i pick up a brown mini skirt, walking to liv. "you should try this," i say. she smiles, taking it. after a few minutes, she heads to the change rooms, and i sit on the couch, taking out my phone. "y/n, come in," she says. "which one are you in?" i ask. "this one," she says, unlock the door and poking her head out. i stand up, walking in. she closes the door, and i look at her. "okay, this," she says. i look at her brown sweater. "that's cute," i smile. "and the skirt," she says. i look down, looking at her outfit. "wait, i'll be one second," i say. i walk out, quickly grabbing a brown leather jacket. i walk back in, closing the door. "try this," i say. i wrap the jacket around her, and she slides her arms through. we turn to the mirror, looking at her outfit. "you look great," i say. "you always say that," she says. "because you do," i chuckle.
olivia gets out of the outfit, putting her other clothes on. "how much was the jacket?" she asks. "doesn't matter," i say, picking up olivia's clothes. "y/n, don't," olivia says as we walk out. "y/n, do," i say, walking to the counter. olivia pulls on my arm, giving me as stern look. i smile, continuing to walk.
"do you need a bag?" the lady asks. "yes, please," i say, taking out my phone. "that'll be a hundred and ninety six dollars," she puts the price on the card machine, and olivia quickly reaches for her phone. i hold her arm, tapping my phone. "you are so annoying," olivia laughs. i look up at the lady, who was giving us a weird look. "sorry, it's her birthday. trying to spoil her, you know?" i lie. she gives a nod, placing the receipt in the bag. she hands me the bag, and we walk out. "y/n, you'll be the death of me," olivia says. "happy birthday," i say, smiling widely and handing her the bag. "thank you," she smiles, taking the bag.
i look around the shops. "y/n, when you said 'do you wanna go shopping for a bit?', that doesn't mean 'buy everything for olivia'," liv tells me. i laugh, "wait, really? i swear i asked if you wanted to go shopping and let me buy you everything!" olivia laughs too, "i think you got your words mixed up." "oh, that's too bad," i smile. "no more, y/n. i mean it," she says, looking at me with a straight face. "i mean it too," i respond, squinting my eyes at her. "i'll rip your stitches back open again," she says. "okay, aggressive," i note, "they're already, like, ninety percent healed." i turn to olivia as we walk, pulling my shirt up to show my stomach. i look down, and olivia looks at my stomach. "okay, no need to show everyone," she says, pulling my shirt down as she looks around. "you can barely see it," i say, "unless you don't want people to see my stomach!" olivia laughs, "that's exactly why! i'm gatekeeping you." "that's pretty rude," i say. "no it's not," olivia says, "can't i gatekeep my girlfriend?" "no, you can't," i laugh, "hey, speaking of keeping secrets, are you ever gonna tell your parents about us?" "no, i'll keep you as my secret until we're married. i'll be like to my family, 'hey! my fiancé and i have a wedding tomorrow, come join!'" i laugh, and olivia links her arm in mine. "maybe i'll tell them next time they bring it up, which'll be the next time i talk to my mom, knowing her," liv chuckles. "i'm not asking you to tell your parents," i chuckle, "i was just wondering since tony knows about us." "i know, i wanna tell them about you," liv says. i smile, and we continue to walk around the mall.
after a couple hours of shopping, we head back to the car. i open the trunk, olivia and i placing all the shopping bags in. i close the trunk, opening olivia's door. she gets in with a thank you like always, and i walk to my side, opening the door and getting in. i buckle up, looking at olivia, "any more shopping?" she laughs, "i'm set for today." i smile, "we'll have lunch when we get back." "y/n," olivia says. "yeah?" i glance at her. "you're perfect, you know?" she smiles. i chuckle, shaking my head, "no i'm not." "you are! you literally do everything for me. sometimes i feel so useless," she says. "hey," i say, reaching over and holding her hand, "you're not useless. don't feel that way!" she laughs, "well, you cook, drive me everywhere, open my door, close my door, hold all the bags- literally everything!" i laugh too, "because i want to, rodrigo. i wouldn't do it if i didn't want to." "you're why my standards are so high," she squeezes my hand. "good," i chuckle, "compare me to whoever you're meeting." "yeah, i'll be like, 'y/n would pull out my chair for me to sit, why didn't you do it?' 'y/n would've opened my car door, why am i opening it myself?' 'y/n would've carried me to bed if i fell asleep on the couch, why am i still here?'" i laugh, "perfect. amazing. shocked. no words." olivia laughs too. "except, one flaw," i say. "tell me," liv says. "you wouldn't have to compare me to other people," i say, "because you're stuck with me." "that's right," olivia says. i smile, turning right.
