ONE

Every movement I made hurt me, it felt like I had been through hell and back. My head was pounding, my body felt useless, and the only thing I can think of is the pain. What happened yesterday? What happened yesterday? What happened yesterday?! Why can't I remember!?

"Oh god.." I groaned out.

"N-Name! Are you awake?!" A man called out for me in the distance.

Tilting my head up, it appeared to be a brown-haired man with what looked like grey glasses calling for me. Unlike him, whose whole body was restrained in a way that he could only move his head, I could freely move.

Who is he?

How are we here anyway? What even happened..? Why is he.. well, trapped?

But somehow.. it didn't appear that it would be that easy. If someone 'kidnapped' us, it'd mean they'd want something in return.. but for what? Why would they trap two people in the same room, one with restraints and the other without?

My body felt surprisingly cold, causing me to flinch on contact as I felt my wrist. Suddenly, it all hit at once.

I was trapped.

I'm going to die here.

I don't want to die..

Suddenly, the man's voice shook me out of my dilemma. "Are.. are you alright?"

Relaxing my shoulders, I push myself off the ground and stand up, only to feel a sudden aching in my legs that flowed throughout my entire body. "Y-Yeah," I responded, trying not to wince.

  I was not alright.

Suddenly, something vibrated inside my pocket: my phone. It was from an unknown number. Who could be calling me at this time? Maybe they could help..!

"..Beginning voiced guidance."

"Who-Who is this!?" I screamed into the phone.

Hayasaka answered instead, "You know them.. we both do."

Us? What did that..-
 
The voice cut my thoughts off as it spoke, "The first trial will now begin. (Name), and Hayasaka. Find the button hidden in this room. Press it, and it will stop. If you cannot do so before the time limit expires, the axe will swing once and decapitate your partner. By all means, please enjoy this thrill with all your body and soul. The time limit is a healthy three minutes."

We're going to die.

Looking around, my mind was still stuck on what Hayasaka said.

'You know them.. we both do.', Who was 'them'?

The room appeared to have two cabinets in the right corner and strangely enough, there was only one in the other.  Deciding it'd be more efficient I went with the drawer on the left, but nothing. It was then I was losing hope on this side, until something caught my eye. It appeared to be a crumpled paper hidden behind the cabinet.

  Dear (Name), have you enjoyed it so far?

Some might say I'd be cheating, 'influencing', but I'm doing what a good boss does, helping his co-worker! I don't expect that you'd save him, you're not like that, are you?
