One shot? I dunno it, just came to me:

October 28th, 2017

Back resting against the rough brick of the ally wall a few blocks from DiRossi's apartment building, Katherine presses a slightly shaking hand tightly to her side as she glared down at the shackle keeping her from healing herself. How she got herself into this mess was purely stupid on her part and she would be paying Enzo DiRossi a visit once she was bandaged up. All Kat knew was she wouldn’t just bleed out here in a dirty alley in New York of all places. Hell she hadn’t even wanted to come here, but she was doing a favor for the asshat whose men shot her as she made her escape. An asshat who had helped her more than once in the past and hadn’t asked for much in return. Now Kat knew why. The favor hadn’t been a favor at all, it had been a trap. After two and a half years of a mutually beneficial relationship Enzo’s true intentions made themselves known in the form of a power dampening cuff and not so soft threats of violence if she didn’t do as he wanted. She wouldn’t be anyone’s pet let alone one for the mob.

Her options on where she could go were limited. With Ezno’s connections spanning the entirety of the city, not even back alley doctors would be safe for her to make even the barest of visits. He wanted her too badly to not have already made calls with a bounty on her head to be returned to him. Licking her lips Kat closed her eyes as she tipped her head back against the only thing keeping her on her feet at the moment. The sounds of cars honking, people yelling at each other in greeting or telling each other to watch where they were going filtered through to where she was standing behind a gross dumpster. Glancing down, Katherine pulled her hand away to see a steady stream of crimson blood pouring out of her with every heartbeat. Groaning in pain she whispered, “Fuck me.”

There was one place she could go. A place where there would be far less questions than a regular hospital who were required to call the police for a gunshot victim would have. Well that wasn’t strictly true. If anything they would have more questions, just ones that wouldn’t get back to the cops on Enzo’s payroll. Decision made she curses under her breath one more time. Shifting to stand up, Kat ripped the bottom half of her shirt off to press a makeshift compress to the hole in her side before zipping up both her hoodie and the leather jacket over it to hide the crime scene underneath. Wiping her bloodied hands on her jeans to clean them as best she can to also not draw too much attention to herself, she hedges closer to the mouth of the ally. Tucking her very noticeable silvery hair under her hood she glances around the corner. Kat’s fiery white-blue eyes sweep the surrounding streets for any of Enzo’s goons before taking a deep breath and making a dash for the crowded sidewalk.

If she wasn’t so worried about getting taken to a hospital she would have gotten into a cab, but it wasn’t worth the risk. Steeling her spine Katherine allows herself to get lost in the end of the work day crowd. Her injured side continuously getting jostled by people who only cared about where they were going rather than the people they were throwing elbows at as she made her way East. Pausing at the corner of 97th Street and 8th Ave to catch her breath for just a second checking over her shoulder paranoid that someone was on her trail. Then she lets herself get lost again in the crowd as she cuts through into Central Park. It would be quicker and would offer more places to hide just in case she was being followed. With how many breaks she’d had to take to catch her breath and to check on how much blood she was losing, Kat thought that she would never make it to the other end of the park before she wouldn’t get back up again. But the Avengers Tower was only a few blocks now.

People were starting to notice that she was hurt because they were giving her a wide berth as she moved down the crowded sidewalks in the fading daylight. Hopefully no one would call the police to help the bleeding woman staggering down 5th Ave. She snorts derisively to herself. As if anyone here would do something kind for their fellow citizen.
