Patrick overhears a couple of year 7s somewhere by his elbow
“Loki actually scares me so much.”
“Yeah, he’s so creepy oh my God.”
At the exact same moment that Patrick says, “Loki is awesome.” He hears Elsie say, “Loki is misunderstood,” From somewhere behind him.
Patrick turns around to see her pulling a small, dark (dear God) smile at him.
“You’re the guy who watches me in class. Patrick, right?”
Patrick laughs uncomfortably, “What? No. Of course I don’t watch you… That -”
“Yes you do”
“Yes. I – I s’pose I do”
“It’s OK.”
“OK.”
As an alternative to passing out with embarrassment, Patrick turned around to order his sausage roll.
