Love is just strange

Chapter 8

Finally, after a long way I got a job. I called Rakshan to share the good news .
His call went unanswered.  I decided to share with him once I reach home. I was riding my bike enjoying the evening. The road journey was quite different today,  maybe because I have a job right now. Anyway it was so nice.
I stopped by the roadside teashop to have glass of tea. Everything feels odd today. Usual things feels unusual. The sun was setting down and it started to become dark. As I was nearing my area, I saw a group of boys and a girl standing by the road corner. They saw me and started to behave weirdly. The girl was the same one I saw in the coffee shop. Wow! I still remember her. Weird. I thought they were friends.  But the boys's appearance said a different story. I neared them and they was trying to behave casually, which I caught it instantly to be an act. That means is she in danger? I neared them and started to talk casually to find anything.  I noticed her eyes were moist. She had been crying?. "Hey! How are you doing?. Its been a while since we  met.". I closed my eyes in assurance.  She understood my motive and started to talk with me. " Yeah. Doing good. Heading home.". She was trying to move , but she couldn't. They were holding her. I didn't want to make a scene or pull up any stunts. So I thought and asked," I'm going by  there.  I can drop you at home.". "No . Its fine.  Actually we're having a small party, we're are going there by the way. She'll be good. Isn't it?" One of the boy interrupted me. She was trying to give me a reply, but before that I cut her off to end this right now." How much  time I had told you not to roam out during night? As a police officer, I know how dangerous it could be. I've been seeing a lot of cases recently ". She widened her eyes and the boys started to fear.
"Come now, I'll drop you at home ". The boys loosened her hold, I guess. I definitely thought she would hesitate to come with me in my bike. She walked slowly towards me, with a slight hesitation she got on my bike. I glared at at the boys and started my bike. For a few minutes there was silence. "Where's your home??" No answer. I stopped the bike. She came out of her trance.  "I askesd, where is your home??" " Hmm. 2 streets from here ". She answered blankly looking the surroundings. I dropped  her off in her street. "Thank you ", she said and I just  nodded my head and headed off from there.
