Valerie's POV
"Delivery for one miss Valerie Langston",the delivery guy in front of me says.
"That's me", I smile, who actually sent me this? Hmm...did I make an arrangement with anyone?
"Sign here ma'am",he hands me the sign book and I sign before collecting the box.
"Thanks", I close the door and walk back inside, what could this be?
I open up the package to see some pictures of my childhood, right from when I was a baby till high school. Who knows so much about me? My landline which starts ringing draws me out of my thoughts.
"Hello?", I ask.
"Hi",the deep voice on the other line says, his voice is so amazing.
"I'm sure you must've received my package Valerie",he says.
"Oh, yup. If you don't mind I'd like to know who you are", I confidently say.
"Sure, I don't but I don't want you to know who I am over the phone, it's been a while since we met or even chatted so I'd like to invite you to a ball, a mask ball actually",he calmly says.
This is weird, what if he's an obsessed stalker who wants to end his obsession by killing me?
"How can I prove that you're not just an obsessed stalker?", I ask cautiously.
He laughs and I could've sworn I heard that laugh somewhere but not quite sure where.
"Well if you come you'll find out",he says which makes me more worried.
"It's more like an evening dinner theme right after Luke Walton street, I'll send you a personal chauffeur by 5pm so, see you there Vee",the line goes dead.
Vee...the only person in my life who calls me Vee is Nick. Is he the one? Well curiousity kills the cat....but maybe it wouldn't hurt this cat to be curious.
It's past three already so I need to start searching for something to put on to this mask themed dinner party.
This is just perfect 😊. I receive a text from a private number which says "There will be a mask in the car", I know it's from the guy.
Thank goodness because I just don't know which store I'd have to get a mask from. I'm literally starving and I regret not eating some of Dia's home made recipes, they're just the best. I grab some chocolate cookies and milk from the mini fridge in my room and settle down to eat some.
By the time I'm done with my makeup,my door bell rings. I pick up my purse and look at myself one last time in the mirror.
"Valerie, this might be the last time you see yourself in a mirror, or not", I sigh and walk carefully downstairs.
"Good evening miss Langston",the chauffeur who is well into his 50's greets me with a beautiful smile and I can tell he was weigh more handsome in his youth.
