Valerie's POV
"Wow it's so beautiful", I gasp at the beauty in front of me.
It's a rooftop with a candlelit table and some roses on the floor leading to the table. The moon isn't so bright where we're standing.
We are on a rooftop and I'm meant to be thinking about him stabbing me with a knife or pushing me off the top, but here I am watching the beautiful moonlight and stars and the table for two by the edge.
I tuck my hair behind my ear and take a few steps forward, closer to the edge and the table. The moon is so bright and beautiful tonight.
"Isn't it beautiful?", I turn to ask my mystery man but I pause because it seems like he's no longer putting on his mask.
He takes few steps forward out of the dark, now I can see his face better with the reflection of light from the bright moon and stars. He holds my waist and pulls me in for a tight hug then he leans out and looks at my lips before he places a soft kiss on them lips. I feel his tongue on my lips, pleading for entrance and I grant him entrance immediately because I'm so excited. It really is him. It's been a full year and few months since I saw him and I miss him so much. I didn't realize I'd actually miss him this much.
Tears stream down my eyes during the kiss then he leans out to look at me.
"What's wrong Vee? Aren't you supposed to be happy? Or you don't wanna see me?",he cups my face.
"I..I just....I missed you so much Nick, you don't know how much I missed you", I cry.
"Vee you had my number but you wanted space and time, I was just a phone call away",he says.
"I couldn't call because I had to respect our friendship which ended in the most tragic way. Why didn't you call me earlier?", I ask.
"I wanted to respect your space, I was dying to see you, to hold you this close, to kiss you",he takes off my mask.
"You still look as beautiful as ever",he says.
"Why didn't you tell me your name over the phone? It could've made things easier", I ask again.
"I thought you'd figure it out from the box I sent you and I called you Vee on the phone, so that should've done the trick",he laughs.
"I suspected it", I clean my tears with my handkerchief in order for my makeup not to fade.
"Come on, let's enjoy our dinner right here",he walks me carefully to the table.
He clicks a similar button as the one from inside and a familiar face appears.
"Jonathan", I gleefully say and earn a smile from him.
"Miss",he says.
"Please call me Valerie, don't be so formal", I say.
"Someone's mood is brighter, you know each other?", Nick asks.
"Yup, he served me earlier", I affirm
"What would you like to have now Valerie and Mr Keith?",he asks taking his notepad out of his pocket with a pen.
"For appetizer I'd like to try some of your Caesar salad then main course should be some smothered chicken, for dessert, I'd love to have the red velvet cake, and as for side order I'd like grilled vegetables ", I say.
"You still have quite a large appetite for a grown woman Vee, I thought you left your eating habits in high school",Nick teases.
I just giggle at him.
"What would you like to have Mr. Keith?", Johnathan asks Nick.
"Just make a double of everything she ordered, I trust Vee's taste",he smiles at me.
"I'll be right back with your orders, enjoy your evening Sir ",he says and walks back to the elevator.
Nick reaches out to my hand and links our hands together.
"Vee, I missed you so so much",he says while I smile sheepishly.
"I mean it and I can't see myself with any other girl apart from you. I know I've said this a thousand times back then.Vee please, I'm gonna ask you this question for the very first time and I just wish your answer is gonna make me enjoy my evening",he says.
I'm lost in his mesmerizing eyes, his hair, his cute face and that stubble beard he has now.
I nod for him to go ahead. He clears his voice before speaking up.
"Valerie Langston, I'm asking you here today, in front of God and the universe to be my girl",he says, I blink.
"I...I don't understand",you must think I'm foolish, well that's because I am. My brain just takes time to process some kind of things and right now that's what it's doing.
He laughs a bit and looks serious again, "Vee will you be my girlfriend? Let's give us a shot",he says.
I smile now like this animal 🦥 and nod trying not to cry.
"Yes, yesssssss Nick",he leans closer and places a little kiss on my cheek.
"Thank you so much Vee, I love you and I'll never get tired of loving you",he says.
That's how my evening was. Eventful. In one word, that's how I'd describe it. I'm so glad I have Nick all to myself again. We went through a rough ride earlier but now we're getting into the car again for a new journey as a couple, let's see how this goes.
A/n: All we can do is hope right? We just hope their relationship is gonna last, that's what we all do in life...hope for the best of things and it's not wrong for them to hope.
