chapter 1, page 7.

"Mikasa! Go help Sasha with Samuel! Eren and I will go look for the titan!" I wanted Mikasa to go with me, but Eren probably wouldn't know how to safely get Samuel down so I decided against it.

Mikasa looked hesitant for a few seconds, but started going down to Sasha.

"Alright, let's go Y/n!" Those words triggered me to start speeding up the wall with my gear.

"Whoever gets up first needs to check for the titan before going up! Okay?!" I heard him try and be brave while yelling, but he had a voice crack.

"Yeah okay!" 

I ended up getting there first so I looked and it was not hard to find the titan at all. Just as I spotted him, Eren caught up to me and we nodded at each before rushing to the titan using the wall a boost.

The titan started smoking and I could see Eren slow down for a few seconds before going again. 

"He's going for the stationary cannons! We need to hurry up!" I signaled to Eren that he wasn't just playing around.

'Y/N! There's *pant* there's no way him going for both the stationary cannons and getting the wall was a coincidence! This titan is intelligent!" How the hell did he notice that before I did. Nevermind, that doesn't matter.

"Alright well we should just try to keep it away from the others!" I hooked onto another part of the wall and quickly adjusted my headphones with my right hand. 

Just as I was fixing the left side, the titans hand was coming straight for me. I immediately latched my ODM gear onto a separate part of the wall and sped off, but the strike of wind that hit me knocked my headphones off, leaving me overly sensitive to the sounds. I cringed and squinted my eyes, trying to focus on specific sounds that I could use to block out others. I was able to focus on the sound of the ODM gear moving, and used that as my sedative.

 Once I was sure I could focus, I made my way to Eren. We were swerving every other way the titan was hitting, trying and failing to slice it. Eventually, I landed a critical slice on the ankle, at least I thought it was critical. Cause as soon as I swung up, all I saw was a giant muscle heading for my face. Just as the smallest piece of the titans hand grazed me, I heard a very determined voice. 

"Y/N! On my signal you and I are going to slice it's ankles! Alright?!" Eren shouted.

"Alright!" I blew the hair out of my face and started to swing around the titan, waiting for the signal.

"You got this Y/N!!" I looked out of my peripheral and saw my sister. Now that I knew she was watching, I was way more nervous than before. I didn't want to let her down and have her think I was a bad sibling...

If I had kept doubting myself in the midst of the action, I would've gotten hit or killed because of the distractions I was putting upon myself..

Thankfully, I heard a small voice come from none other than her.

"Come on Eren, Y/n.. Please."
