"Get the hell outta here!" shouted one of the police officers.

Joe pulls Zubin through a door, and heads towards an elevator.

"What the hell is going on?" said Zubin.

"The cops are after us." replies joe.

"Are you nuts?" exclaimed Zubin. "Those cops are gonna kill you!"

"No, they won't," replied Joe. "Remember when I told you that I had a plan?"

Zubin nodded. "Yes, you did."

"Well, this is it," said Joe.

Joe pushes the emergency button on the elevator.

"What are you doing?" asked Zubin.

"We're getting out of here."

"Oh my god," replied Zubin. "This is so stupid."

A few seconds later, there was a loud crash.

"That's the cops," whispered Joe. "They broke in."

The doors of the elevator opened, revealing the police.

"Joe Hawley," yelled a policeman. "Come out of there, or we'll come in!"

Joe and Zubin both looked at each other.

"Come out of there!" screamed the policeman again.

Joe quickly pulled a gun from his pocket, and pointed it at the police. "Stay back! This is my weapon, and I'll use it if I have to."

"What the hell are you doing?" said a policeman.

Joe grabbed another gun from his pocket. "I said stay back!"

The policemen backed away, and looked at one another.

"Hey, what the hell is going on?" said a policeman.

Joe jumped onto the railing of the elevator, and jumps off.

"Nooooooooo!" screams Zubin.

Joe falls to the ground, and rolls in pain. He got shot by a bullet.

"Oh my god!" shouted Zubin. "Joe!"

"He's dead," said a policeman.

Zubin runs over to Joe. "Joe, are you okay?"

Joe puts his hand on Zubin's shoulder. "I'm fine." Zubin is shocked. "Just put your hand on the wound, and the bleeding will stop."

Joe places his hand on the wound. Zubin is amazed. "How did you know that?"

Joe smiles. "I've been shot many times before."

"Really?" asks Zubin. "How many times?"

Joe grabs his gun and points it at the policeman. "Now where were we?"

The policeman takes out his own gun, and aims it at Joe.

"Please, just put the gun down," said the policeman.

Joe stares at the policeman, and shakes his head. "No."

"Please give me my cell phone," begged the policeman.

Joe places his finger on the trigger, and fires.

The policeman drops his gun, and falls to the ground.

"It's okay," said Joe. "He's dead now."

Zubin looks at Joe with disgust. "You killed him?"

Joe shrugs. "I had no choice."

"Why didn't you tell me?" asked Zubin. "How can you do something like that?"

Joe looks at Zubin. "You don't understand."

"No, I don't," said Zubin. He gets a sudden idea. "Wait! Let's take his gun!"

Joe looks at Zubin. "Really? We're going to steal a police officer's weapon?"

"Just think about it," said Zubin. "With his gun, we can shoot those other cops, and escape."

Joe nods. "That's right. It's our only chance."

Joe then walks over to the fallen policeman, picks up his gun, and returns to Zubin.

"Here you go," said Joe. "It's yours now."

"What?" replied Zubin.

"We can't leave without it," said Joe.

"And why not?" asked Zubin. "If we do, the police will catch us."

"Exactly," said Joe. "But they won't have any way to track us."

"Okay," said Zubin. "Let's get out of here."

Joe grabs the broken pieces of glass on the floor, and uses them as a makeshift shank.

"Did you see how he shot me?" asked Joe.

"Yeah," replied Zubin.

"Well, I can easily disarm him," said Joe.

"Why would you want to do that?" asked Zubin.

Joe takes out the piece of glass, and stabs it into the policeman's leg. The policeman screams in pain.

"Ughh!" cried the policeman. "What the hell are you doing?"

Joe then removes the shank, and tosses it aside.

"Stop!" yelled Zubin.

"It's okay," said Joe. "He's dying anyway."

The policeman then slowly dies, and collapses on the ground.

"See?" said Joe. "No problem."

"Those were the police," said Zubin. "They're supposed to protect us."

"So?" said Joe.

"This is wrong," said Zubin. "We need to turn ourselves in."

"Fine.." Says Joe Hawley, as the two walk to the local police station to hand themselves in.
