(Ben POV)
Darius and Yas were the first to point it out. The thump on the ground and the panic in their voices made me notice. Sammy had gotten impaled by the Scorpius. The quills didnt look that deep but someone mentioned them being venomous.

I stood off to the side. I didnt know what to think or say. This was too much. Out of everything we all did, why Sammy? She was the best of us. Always optimistic and happy. She always brought us out of our darkest moments. So why?

Everyone was frantic. Brooklyn mentioned an antidote in a lab or something. Yas was willing to go and get it. I volunteered to go make a diversion and Darius followed.

A dinosaur called in the distance. Out of instinct, I pushed Darius to the ground, dropping with him. Again. I tried to hide the little flutter in my stomach by making a shushing sound. I wasnt really shushing him but more like myself.

We trekked further and further until I found the spot, "OH THERE!" I whisper-yelled at Darius. He tripped over a plant leaf. God hee was perfect.

"I figured we had plenty to get to Costa Rica, so I stashed some away, you know, in case of a rainy day," Darius gave me a somewhat amusing stare.

"Ben, you beautiful, disturbed, beautiful boy"

It felt like time stopped. Did he just call me that? Was it unintentional? Platonic? My face grew warm and I discretely looked away picking up the gas cans.

(Darius POV)
We were at the gondolas and I was still thinking about what I said. Did I REALLY just say that to him? What was he thinking? His face appeared red but that could just be his sunburn.

"almost ready," his voice was surprisingly soft. I liked it. No. I loved it.

He attached the flare to gondola and I pressed the button. This better work, or we may lose two people in one night...

We both raced to the rails and watches it go up, undeniably excited. I was expecting something bigger, but my heart sank deeper then hell when the gondola burst into flames. It wasnt a lot. It didnt even explode.

"We have to do something!" I turned to the surprised and upset boy. He looked anxious.

"I might have some more clicks from here" he moved his hand around as he spoke.

"CLICKS??? What the HECK are clicks?" I snapped a little, ignoring Ben's face, "Ben, we're out of time!"

The older boy looked a bit hurt, "I know, I-"

He was suddenly cut off by a very loud explosion. The top of the mountain looked like it was on fire. We slowly turned to the flames. This HAD to have worked.

We were laughing in triumph when a flaming rock landed behind us, "We should uh"

Ben didnt have to say more before we started bolting.

(Yasmina POV)
My ankled ached and I stared helplessly at the Scorpius Rex. The antidote was held to my chest and I stared at the sickening creature with hatred and fear.

She looked like she was going to lunge at me when the mountain exploded. No other way to describe it. The dinosaur ran to the light and I started hobbling to the camp.

I was in numbing pain. I could barely move. But the memories kept replaying and I kept going. I had to save her. Tears filled my eyes as I went through the camp fence.

"Im here Sammy," my voice shook as Brooklyn injected the medicine.

Ben and Darius made it back shortly after. They both looked sick, Kenji was panicking. I didnt know what to feel. But thats when she started coughing.

(Sammy POV)
Everything hurt. My arms. My head. Heck, even my darn ears. But I forced myself awake. I opened my eyes to see Yas. Yas, my friend. Yas, the one who was my first camp friend. Yas, the prettiest one here.

I former a smile as she dove in for a hug
