It's been almost three weeks since I've updated.

Honestly there hasn't been much going one, though.

The Nzqa results came out on the 17th. If you don't know what NZQA is, it's stands for New Zealand Qualifications Authority. Basically, it's a system that watches over every NCEA student and their results, credits and qualifications. There I could find out if I passed this year or not.

Why it's so important is because the University, I'm enrolling in hasn't fully accepted my application, because they need to check your nzqa results, to see if you've passed or have University entrance. University entrance is needed to enter university. (obviously). If you don't have university entrance, you're most likely going to be turned away or declined.

Okay so, 17th of January. The results are out, I log in and OMG!!!!!

I failed. Well, that's what Nzqa results were showing. I didn't see the tab, National Qualification of Level 3 Certificate, or something like that. I looked at my credits.

Okay, the number of credits you need to pass any ncea levels. Are 80 credits. The cool thing though is that, when you're doing level 2 or 3. 20 credits from the previous ncea year get put onto the current years. So, though in level 2 and 3, you need 80 credits. You technically only need to work towards 60 credits because 20 from level 1 are added on. Since 2020, because of covid, nzqa has been allowing students to pass with 72 credits minimum. That doesn't seem like much but that's 1-4 assessments. Depending on the subject. So, this year I only needed to work towards 52 credits, for level 3, since 20 will be added from level 2 the previous year.

I take a look at my credits and see.... 29 Level 3 credits. 29!!! Like what the actual fuck. To put in perspective, I did a course that gave me level 3 credits, while I was doing level 2. (You can pass Level 1 and 2 with credits a level higher, not only can you pass, but it makes you have to do less work the next year.) While doing level 2, I got 17 level 3 credits in 2021. So, 29-17= 12. Apparently, I only achieved 12 credits in 2022. Now just seeing 29, and me not passing I knew something was wrong. No way half of my credits just disappear, plus nzqa didn't add the additional 20 from the previous year. I emailed my high school teacher, found out that I'm not the only who received weird results.

Some of my classmates did too. Some only have 39-20 credits. Now, our teachers made sure we're going to university or tertiary study. So, we all knew something was wrong. The only ones I'm kind of worried for are those who got scholarships. As soon as the results are out, I got an email from the university saying they had to decline my enrolment. So, my friends don't even know if they still have the scholarships or not. My teacher got in touch with nzqa, and the results have updated. I now have 59 credits and University Entrance. I just now need to call the university and have them look at my results again, and do basically the entire enrolment thing again, or have them re open it and accept.

The cool thing about the university though, is that even if I didn't have university entrance, they have a course, which takes a full trimester. Basically, preparing for university and you can gain university entrance through the program. Also, as a bonus, taking the program would qualify you to their bursary. So that's also pretty cool.

Thinking I didn't pass, did bum me out for a bit. But eh, I'm excited for the BTS movie though. Yes, I'm watching it in the cinemas with my cousins.

I was so relieved to see that I have university entrance. Really calmed me down a bit. Not like I showed it, but yeah. Anyway, I don't even know what I'm writing anymore.

Goodbye.
