The chains of the punching bag rattle with every hit I give, and the music from my AirPods drown out all my thoughts. I hit harder my wrists aching from the force. I see the door to the gym open, I was meant to be alone but I couldn't care right now.
Well, I wouldn't have cared if the person didn't start walking towards me.
I rear back preparing for my final punch, my fist hits the leather and the bag swings uncontrollably. I'm left huffing trying to catch my breath.
"Excuse me, Falcon?"
I look at the soldier he's taller than me and quite fit but he's cautious like he is scared.
"What do you want?" I snap.
I hate being bothered at the gym.
"General Shepherd wants to see you"
I nod and he leaves. I grab my stuff and head to the bathroom, I wash my face and change out of my gym clothes into my uniform.
I put on the green T-shirt and camo cargo and do up my belt, slipping on my boots and tightening the laces, I slip a small knife into the side of my right boot making sure it can't be seen.
The halls are full of soldiers doing their tasks or hanging out on their breaks. I walk fast to Shepherd's office, I finally reach his door and take a deep breath before rapping on the door with my fist.
"Come in" He grunts from inside,
I enter his office, closing the door behind me. There is another man sitting in a chair across from Shepherd, I stand in front of the two men, my hands clasped behind my back.
"You wanted to see me, sir?" I question him,
I take a glance at the other man and notice his British patch and his blond moustache or is it a beard?
"Yes, I called you here to introduce you to your new captain",
I'm getting moved again? First I move from Australia to this American corp, and now I could be moved to Britain.
"This is Captain John Price, he is the head of task force 141, you will join them."
Holy crap 141! So no Britain, thank god.
"Go pack your bags you leave this afternoon" Shepherd explains.
"Yes sir" I nod,
"Dismissed"
I salute and leave the general's office.
I sigh as I pull out my gear and slip my vest on and the armour over the top. I attach all my belts and holsters and pack them with knives and my pistols. I shove some clothes and other bits I need into a large duffle bag.
I leave my room and head for the transport, but before I can get out of the barracks someone steps in my way.
"What are you doing birdie?" The most annoying voice calls out,
I look up to see the biggest asshole and dumbest person in the whole corp,
"I'm leaving Connor"
I try to walk past him but he just blocks me.
"I always knew you were too weak for the army" he smirks at me.
I have killed hundreds and my name is feared by many, but I still have to deal with asshats like Connor.
"Move before I make you" I warn him,
His smirk widens "aw is that a threat?"
It's like he takes any chance to piss me off.
"No, it's a promise"
I try to step past him again but he blocks me for a third time. Someone calls out to Connor and tells him that he should move and others around us agree.
He ignores them and takes a step towards me and I drop my bag.
"Where are you going anyway birdie?"
He gets all up into my face and I can smell his foul breath. Before he can move I grab his arm and spin him around kicking him in the back, he falls and I grab his wrist and twist it behind him while pushing my knee into his back causing him to yelp in pain.
"I'm joining the 141 looser, now stay out of my way."
Pride floods through me as he whines, I can hear the others whispering about me. I get off the whimpering man and grab my bag finally making my way to the transport.
