Warnings : wholesome sibling moment

✍️ Not a request but I wanted to write this idea.

Author Note: Tanjiro and Nezuko are roughly one year apart in canon story. For this story, Tanjiro is two and a half while Nezuko is just recent one. Kie is feeling exhausted from morning sickness with her third pregnancy, which would be Takeo Kamado. She asks Tanjiro to babysit little Nezuko (even though she is just napping nearby, it isn't like she has left them all alone.) Tanjiro takes this role very seriously for being only two 🥺

Tanjiro Kamado POV

"Tanjiro, listen carefully. Mommy needs a nap." Mama holds her stomach while fighting back morning sickness. Dada has gone to the village to sell charcoal. "Please watch over Nezuko."

I nod my head and throw my arms into the air. "Okay!"

Mama ruffles my hair with head pats, "Good boy. Take good care of her. I am right here if you need me."

I won't!
I am a big boy!
I am best Brother!

Watching mama curl up with a big blanket. I pat her back before turning to find my baby sister. Nezuko is chewing at a toy as I take a spot beside her. She smiles seeing me as she continues to soothe the teething pain by biting the toy.

"Don't worry Nezuko! Big Brother is here."

I tickle under her chin and she gives out a cute giggle. The tiny pink bow holding a few strands of hair on the top of her head is really precious.

She is best Sister!

Watching her carefully when I spot a butterfly fluttering just outside the door. I smile seeing how beautiful the multiple colors of it's wings are. Seeing it fly in a circle before eventually drifting away.

"Pretty." I look back to my sister. Gasping when I see she has crawled away while I was distracted. Going to reach for Mama when I quickly scoop her up off the floor into my arms.

She is really. really heavy. I huff as I waddle away holding her akwardly in my little arms, "No Nezuko. Do not wake Mama."

She pinches me and begins to giggle. Finally I set her back down and grab the wrap mama uses for carrying her. It takes several tries but I finally figure out how to get it on as I carefully slide my sister onto my back.

Giving her a big grin, "Want to go outside and look for the butterfly?"
