For eighteen years of her life, the only thing that Dorothy Sullivan could ever want for herself, and her mother was a sense of belonging to something that wouldn't just simply toss her aside and act as if she didn't exist– simply due to the fact that she had no magic of her own and could only take magic from others.

And the coven that her mother had made up for them that consisted of other siphoning witches that she found in her travels was something that Dorothy thought that she would need for herself in order to feel like she truly belonged somewhere.

What she didn't know, though, was that her choice of seeking out Annabelle Mikaelson and making a deal with the unstable Original vampire was what would give her what she needed– safety, security, a place that she could call home, and someone that she knew would look after her no matter what.

Nor did she realize that her choice of seeking out Annabelle would result in Dorothy herself, her father and a vampire with the name of Joseph Valentine would all band together when Annabelle needed help the most and that their choice of banding together and working together in order to help her was what get Dorothy to be a part of an ancient family of vampires that had a history of backstabbing each other, no matter the reason that they had for it.

And to think that the chaotic friendship that she had with Annabelle and Joseph– along with meeting her father for the first time– only happened after she sought out Annabelle only two years prior in an attempt to ensure the destruction of the Gemini and Phoenix Covens.
