It was the last seconds of the championship game. The Bulldogs were behind. The clock was ticking down . . .

Then Jughead suddenly flew across the court, weaving between opponents, heading for the goal. Just as he had practiced, he faked right, went left, threw the ball, and . . . NOTHING BUT NET! The buzzer sounded and it was a one-point Bulldog victory.

In the melee that followed, Coach Jones found his son and gave him a huge hug.

Ms. Grundy fought her way through the crowd. As she approached the coach, the old adversaries eyed each other for a moment . . . then they grinned and gave each other a high five.

As Betty got close to Jughead, he called out, "What about your team?"

"We won, too," she said, excited and happy. They hugged each other in congratulations, just as Archie handed a basketball to Jughead.

"Team voted you the game ball, Captain." He said. They high five each other, then he turned to Veronica. "So . . . you're going with me to the after-party, right?"

"Like on a date?" Veronica asked, shocked.

"Must be your lucky day," Archie grinned.

She laughed, and nodded. A week ago, he would have disagreed, but now . . . maybe Archie is right. Maybe it was a lucky day.

As Betty walked out of the gym, still beaming. Cheryl came up to her. "Well, congratulations," Cheryl said. "I guess I'm going to be the understudy in case you can't make one of the shows, so . . . break a leg."

Betty looked at her, confused.

Cheryl smiled—a real smile this time—and explained, "in theater, that means good luck."

And now Betty smiled a real smile, too.

As she moved on, Reggie saw his chance and moved in on Cheryl.

"Sorry you didn't get the lead, Cheryl," he said. "But you're still really, really, good. I admire you so much."

"And why wouldn't you?" asked Cheryl, who hadn't changed into a complete different person, after all. "Now bye-bye."

He shyly held out a bag of cookies. "I baked them for you . . ." She took them as if they were her due, and he walked away.

Jughead found Josie in the crowd and handed her the basketball. "Composer, here's our game ball. You deserve it . . . playmaker."

Josie nearly fainted. She was being handed the game hall by Jughead Jones! She got dizzy, just thinking about how much her life had changed in a short week. Dizzy and very, very happy. She broke into a huge grin and threw the ball in the air.

And when it came down, Riverdale High School was a different place. It was a place where punk kids could talk to brainiacs, and jerks could hang out with drama kids. It was a place where everybody could follow the beat of their own drummer, and other people would cheer them on. In other words, it was a place where people could have fun . . . together!

All:

Oh, alright, here we go
Together, together
Together, everyone
Together, together
Come on, let's have some fun
Together, we're there for
Each other every time
Together, together
Come on, let's do this right

Jughead:

Here and now, it's time for celebration
I finally figured out (yeah, yeah)
That all our dreams (Uh) have no limitations
That's what it's all about (Come on, now)

Betty:

We make each other strong (We make each other strong)
We're not the same, we're different in a good way
Together's where we belong

All:

We're all in this together
Once we know that we are, we're all stars
And we see that
We're all in this together
And it shows when we stand hand in hand
Make our dreams come true

Betty and All:

Everybody now
Together, together
Together, everyone
Together, together
Come on, let's have some fun
Together, we're there for
Each other every time
Together, together
Come on, let's do this right

Jason:

We're all here (Yeah) and speakin' out with one voice
We're gonna rock the house, yeah, yeah (Rock the house)
The party's on (Oh)
Now everybody make some noise
Come on, scream and shout

Cheryl:

We've arrived (Arrived)
Because we stuck together
Champions one and all

All and Betty:

We're all in this together (Together)
Once we know that we are, we're all stars (That we are)
And we see that
We're all in this together (Oh)
And it shows when we stand hand in hand
Make our dreams come—
We're all in this together (Together)
When we reach, (Oh) we can fly, know inside
We can make it (Hey)
We're all in this together (Everyone)
Once we see there's a chance that we have
And we take it

All:

Wildcats, sing along
Yeah, you really got it goin' on
Wildcats in the house
Everybody say it now
Wildcats everywhere
Wave your hands up in the air
That's the way we do it, let's get to it
Time to show the world

Hey, ho
Hey, ho, alright, here we go

All and Betty:

We're all in this together (Oh)
Once we know that we are, we're all stars

Jughead:

(That we are)

All and Betty:

And we see that

Jughead:

(We see that)

All:

We're all in this together

Betty:

Together

All:

ooh, yeah

And it shows when we stand hand in hand
Make our dreams come true
We're all in this together
When we reach, we can fly, know inside
We can make it
We're all in this together (All)
Once we see there's a chance that we have
And we take it

Wildcats everywhere
Wave your hands up in the air
That's the way we do it, let's get to it
Come on, everyone

After the huge celebration, people were still milking around, laughing, talking, and getting to know people they had never even noticed before.

That's when Cheryl came flying into the crowd, pushing people out of the way to get to Reggie.

"Your cookies are the greatest!" She yelled. "The best things I've ever tasted! Will you make more for me, Reggie?"

Reggie grinned. Of course he would bake for her! In fact . . . he waggled his eyebrows and said slyly. "I might make you a crème brûlée."
