Susheela was looking down at her diamond heart shaped pendant that Pramod had gifted her. She had even joined her engagement diamond ring to it. She clutched it to herself and sighed as the cold breeze hit her face. Susheela was mindlessly playing with her chain when the rickshaw came to an abrupt stop. Susheela looked at the driver confused and then at her surroundings. She nodded her head and took out her suitcases and handed the driver his fair. She saw the rikhshaw moving out of her view and turned around to face Pramod's house, which would've been her permanent address as well.
Susheela sighed and moved towards the compounding walls of her ex boyfriend's mansion. She placed her suitcases near the bushes and looked around in case somebody saw her doing some absolute barbaric shit. Thankfully for her, none of the residents of this area were awake, well why would they be awake at this hour? Susheela looked here and there once again before she climbed the wall with the help of a mango tree that was too close to the wall.
Once she was stable on the mango tree, she put her legs around the wall and without a warning to her system, she jumped down. Susheela winced once she fell down on the hard ground. The guards that were stationed near the gate were as usual sleeping, making Susheela frown at them. Susheela went around the backside of the enormous house and located Pramod's room's window. All the while she was praying for the windows to be open. And to her luck, the windows were left open today.
With the help of a pipe, Susheela climbed up until she reached the window. She peeped inside to see that the whole room was dark, the lights were closed and Pramod was peacefully sleeping on the bed. The moonlight that was coming from the window was highlighting his striking features. Susheela balanced herself on the windowsill and opened the window wide enough for her to get it.
She jumped inside like a spy and tiptoed near Pramod, the only source of light being the moonlight that was coming from the window. Susheela carefully and silently without making any noise bent down near the bed and sat down on the cold white marble floor. She looked at Pramod with awe, his nose, his cheeks, his lips, they all looked so perfect. The soft locks of his brown hair too were shining due to the mild light.
Instant tears gathered in her eyes as she looked at her now ex boyfriend sleeping peacefully without a care in the world. That's what she wanted for him, for him to have these peaceful nights and carefree slumber, even if that meant for her to become an insomniac, she would choose him without thinking twice about herself. Susheela threaded on eggshells around him. She raised her hand and gently caressed his cheeks with the back of her knuckles.
"I'm sorry.", Susheela said through tears. The girl who didn't cry even when she was badly hit during her boxing days was crying every waking second nowadays.
"Tumhe bohot ghussa aa raha hoga mujh par, lekin ek din tumhe jarur samjhega ki jo kuch bhi maine kiya hai wo tumhari bhalai ke liye hi kiya hai. Please, ho sake toh mujhe maaf kar do Pramod. Main humesha humesha ke liye jaa rahi hu.", Susheela said and kissed Pramod's forehead. A tear drop fell on his eyelids that belonged to Susheela's broken heart, as a memory of their slipping love.
"I love you.", Susheela whispered one last time as she rushed away from him and towards the window. She carefully climbed down the pipe and went towards the wall from where she had come inside.
Pramod woke up with a start, a new found urgency in his veins, he was never asleep in the first place. He was listening to each and every word Susheela had to say, he even thought that he was dreaming until he felt her tear drop fall down on his eyelid and her gentle feather like touch on his forehead. Pramod quickly found himself on his two feet and rushed towards the window. He hid near the edge and watched as Susheela climbed the wall and jumped down the other side. He winced slightly as she fell down on her arms. He wanted to go and rush towards her to help her but he stopped himself. He saw as she got up wincing and picked up her two suitcases and walked down the street.
