Chapter 2: Wizardry

We landed upon a white fluffy cloud. "What the fuck was that?" I screamed. "Who are you?!" I asked. "The name's Asher" he replied showing no emotion once again while completely ignoring my first question. "Follow me." I turned to him, facing him I found the courage to say "Heck no I'm not following you, why should I trust you? I barely know you." He stared at me for a moment, before saying " You're right, but out of all of todays craziness plus saving you a few minutes ago, you're going to question where I'm taking you." "I thought you be a little more trusting like you're other family members." he said as he then proceed to turn and continue his previous direction. I then followed obediently since there was no way I wanted to be stranded on a cloud by myself. We started walking along the cloud and I took the time to observe his moments. Left than right, always repeating, always in a line, I wondered if he was ever a solider. "Where are we going?" I questioned as I looked backwards trying to see where we first landed. Thick clouds had been swirling and drifting behind us, as if the clouds were pushing us forward. "We're here" he said as he stopped.

There was nothing ahead, only the blue sky. He waved his hand in front of him as if he were wiping away something Then a dilapidated house appeared, the few tacked windows glistened in the sunlight. The infrastructure had patches of assorted paint that was majorly eroded. The house reminded me of ones I would see back in England, and it gave off the feeling of one could compose themselves.  "Come on" Asher said as he climbed the stairs towards an opened the door and then proceed  inside. I followed him once, I was out on my trace. When I to the opened door, I was greeted with stale air that was hinted with dust. I crinkled my nose in attempt not to sneeze as I closed the door with a wooden slide. I proceed up a large stair case that had faded carpeting and heavy boot prints. When I reached the top I entered a vast room with brown wooden wall and several windows, I took note of  a circle made of medal folding chairs. "Hello Poppy" I heard from one of the chairs, there was a middle aged man sitting in it. " I'm Copper or you can call me Grandpa." I looked at him as he proceed to stand up and walk towards me with an extended hand, and I shock it. "You must have a lot of questions by now." "Will you please have a seat. We will get started once the rest show up." I sat down in the nearest chair quietly, confused and scared for my safety.

Shortly after being seated, a group of 4 people including Asher joined Grandpa and I. "Well.." said Grandpa after eveyone one was seated. "Here is the newest member of our of organization Poppy." I felt their eyes upon me. "So Poppy we are Wizards and Witches"said Grandpa. " We channel our energy from the Earth." Grandpa then looked at me. "You are one of us. You have a very rare and powerful magic Poppy. It sense it along with everyone powers in this room and that is why you are here." "Anyway before I get into more detail about that, Poppy this is Erick." He pointed to a tanned, tall, blonde haired assumed 20 year old next to him. " And I'm Riley." said the short orange headed girl next to him. "The name's Jeff." said the tall blood red haired dude beside Riley. "And of course you've meet Asher." "Ok now that Poppy knows everyone how about we get some something to eat before I continue to explain" said Grandpa. I looked at my watch, it was 6:30. Asher, Riley, Erick, and Jeff all got up, started talking and went down a hallway towards the kitchen. "Come on Poppy, I'll answer your questions once we have eaten." And with that, he followed the rest. I sat there for a moment though, my mind was buzzing with questions. Especially if I should trust them or not, they seemed unreal like this was a dream, but hesitantly I got up and followed Grandpa down the hall.
