Why is it...so dark..?

Small water droplets crawled along Hitomi's skin from the soaked rag atop of her forehead. She felt the cold water crawl along her up-turned chin before drizziling onto her neck. Feeling its uncomfortable trickle she lifted her arm slowly, feeling a dire soreness. Her wrist hung limply and her arm tingled everytime her skin shifted against the covers.

Wait....why are there covers...?

I'm in the woods...no...right..?

She let her hand fall back onto the surface, being still for a moment before picking her head up softly, the damp cloth sliding down her nose bridge and leaving her eyebrows soaked. Her head fell again before she picked herself up slowly. She leaned forward with a terrible slouched position, her cemented hair glowing between the cracks. Cracks began to little the rocky structure, little chips falling onto the mattress where she'd slept.

Her hair broke free, slithering over her shoulders and covering her back in its warmth. Its light alone seemed to brighten the room, colors of red, orange, and yellow blending in soft hues against the wall. Hitomi blinked, feeling the crust near her eyelids crack and fall on her cheeks. She felt a heavy drowsniess overtake her, pleading her to fall back onto the mattress, but her back ached to stretch and feel some movement. Hitomi curled her toes, waving her feet side to side as if she hadn't handled her body in a milennia.

She slid her legs off of the mattress, feeling them press against the cold ground and recoil from its touch. She let the feeling sink in slowly, raising her other arm to caress her forehead. She picked herself up, stumbling forward before catching herself, her arm dangling limply at her side. She poked her arm, pulling back when she felt like she'd touched a flame, begrudginly picking her arm up and holding it close to her chest.

Hitomi shivered as her eyes wandered around the windowless room, seeing its corners poke out only because of the lava's light. Her hair seemed to flash a brighter hue, extending itself into wild tendrils before clumping back together, pooling at the girl's feet as it casted a brighter light to her surroundings. Glancing aroudn the room with a clearer vision, she saw a door not far from the end of the bed she'd been in.
