jay ordered his third cup of hot chocolate for the day. he kept looking at the time in his phone, even noticed that the battery was also running out and he didn't bring any charger with him.

outside, though with minimum lighting from the streetlight and headlights of car passing in front of the cafe, it was clear that the snow showed no sign of stopping anytime soon. the clock was ticking down on him too, he was afraid that it would reach 12 AM because that'd be the closing time for the cafe and that would mean he would have another failed attempt to meet his old friends.

deep down in his heart, he was still unsure about this attempt. he didn't know if this attempt was going to be the last but he wouldn't give up. he had wasted six years of waiting around and trying to roll with the rest of the show when clearly, his heart was always longing and his mind would always travel back to those bittersweet memories of him and his friends. he needed to get a closure for himself because after all these years, he had indebted an explanation to his friends. he had hurt them. for so long. furthermore, he hurt the loverboy which he didn't imagine himself would capable of doing that and he despised that.

once again, he looked at the time in his phone. opening the messaging app, where he had successfully gathered all contacts of his six friends in a group where only jay being the one talking and initiating a meetup plan. so far, even until right now, there was no answer from the other side. not anyone out of the six. somehow, with jay departing, they fell into sync of ignoring the traitor. jay could understand that.

so, he sighed with his heart stinging with each movement going through the unanswered old messages, he turned his phone off and took a sip of his hot chocolate.

far away in the distance, a group of young boys, in their senior year in high school, one was still in his sophomore, stared at the cafe's window. where it showed a young boy similar in age as theirs, sitting alone befriending silence and loneliness although the cafe seemed to be busy with students going through their late night review off of their textbooks and some chatted with their friends venting about just how exhausting today's mock tests were. must be seniors, just like them.

the figure sitting there also was no stranger to these six boys.

one person in the group looked for a small pebble around him where if he threw it he wouldn't have to bear a fine of breaking someone's property. he found it in seconds, picked it up, brushed it off of any snow, then threw it toward the window of the cafe after a car passed.

upon hearing the rock thrown against the glass, jay whipped his head to the side.

amid the snow falling, under the warm orange streetlight, just on the other side of the sidewalk he could see him. he couldn't believe his eyes at first but here he was, the loverboy, with thick scarf around his neck covering half of his face hesitantly looking back at jay but eventually gave in and waved at him.

gradually, a view of all six friends of his standing there, sporting dominantly black padded coats and jackets, became clear to jay.

jay was at lost of words while his friends, except for heesung who was giving him a middle finger, waved at him.

"finally..."
