I remember that day, the soulmate ceremony when Ewya tells us where our soulmates are on Pandora. My father (the olo'eykan or as we call it on Motunui the chief) calls it a dangerous journey as once you turn 15 you and your fellow teenagers must travel across Pandora to find your soulmates only knowing their clan. My clan decided that if two or more of the generation have soulmates in the same clan then you must venture together however most of our clans soulmates are in out clan. Luckily for me my best friend Liliyans soulmate is also at the Metkayina clan so we got to travel together.

Y/ns POV

"Ughhhhhh y/nnnn" I hear my best friend moan "Yes Lily? " I reply "How long until we get there? " Bitch how should I know "However long Ewya decides it shall take us. " I notice her sitting up right now changing from her dramatic pose of death on the floor of the boat. "I can't wait to find our soulmates, I hope mines really cute. "

She giggles. "Is that all that matters to you? " I ask jokingly, she looks at me offended and proceeds to hit me on the head. "Oi! What was that for??"I complain as she smiles knowing it hurt.

" You claiming only looks matter to me. " she replys smugly until she lays back down with an arm over her forehead as she dramatically sighs "It feels like we've been traveling for weeks, our soulmates will be dead by the time we get there. "

I laugh at this and comment "We left yesterday girl calm down. " "That's still ages! " We both laugh as we look at the ocean.

"I'm glad we're doing this together y/n/n (your nickname). " She gently speaks as we are sitting on the edge of the boat with out feet in the water "So am I Lily, so am I. "

I gasp as she splashes me with some water "Ohhh do you want to fight me? (ง ͠° ͟ل͜ ͡°)ง" "Maybe I do.¯\_(ツ)_/¯" she replys. I grab her by the hips and begins tickling her while she begins crying out of laughter. "S-stop haha. " She claims as I let go. I laugh as she gets up and takles me as she starts tickling me now. "Bro!" I scream as I laugh and she eventually stops.

We get out our food as we start to eat and laugh about what we want our soulmates to be like "I want my soulmates to be kind and funny what about you? " She tells me "I hope my soulmates sweet and protective but not too protective y'know? " I explain "Yea, it's like to the point where he'll stand up for you but he won't become violent towards anyone. " she replys "Exactly" I tell her getting up and collecting the blankets and pillows given to us by my mother out of my home as I lay next to Liliyans with a pillow under each of us and a large blanket covering us together as we hold onto each other and drift off to sleep together.

Our people believe that once you leave to find your soulmate it is up to Eywa to take you to them for some it takes days and for others months however the great mother has never failed in delivering her children to their other half. The reason our clan is one of the few that still travel to find their soulmates is because many others don't believe in soulmates and that our clan has a closer connection to Eywa than many others as we have ceremonies at our spirit tree quite frequently such as when all of the younger generation have turned fifteen they all go to find their soulmates.

I woke up to the sun rising as I look around only to see no islands in sight. I might as well get up now. I get up and cover Liliyans sleeping face with my pillow so the sun doesn't wake her up for a while. I eat my breakfast and look into the ocean for about 2 hours while I wait for her to wake up. "What the hell... " I hear as I look behind me seeing Liliyan has woken up. "Damn it, my attempt to kill you in your sleep has failed but I will succeed one day mwahahahaha." I laugh as she yawns and giggles "Not if I do it to you first. " she replys. I laugh at her and say "Okay sleepyhead. " As she throws her pillow at my back.

~three days later~
Those three days consisted of smiles, joy, excitement and laughter. A lot of laughter as we waited until we arrived to the Metkayina.

Liliyans POV
Haha I finally woke up before y/n. I get up as I look around and notice an island in the distance. I then notice Awa'atlu, the village of the Metkayina clan. "Y/N, GET UP AND LOOK! " I yell out of excitement as a large smile crawls onto my face.

Y/ns POV
I wake up to Liliyans voice screaming at me to wake up as she points at an island "What's going on?" I ask still half asleep "Y/N IT'S ATA'ATLU! " She yells. I'm fully awake now with excitement coursing through my veins. "Holy shit! We've made it, we've actually fucking made it!" I scream hugging my best friend tightly as she hugs me back. We let go of each other as we rest our foreheads together and hold one hand on our necklaces and one hand on each other's hearts. "Us against the world right y/n/n? " she claims softly "Yep, us against the world Lily. " I reply calmly as we sit down next to each other letting the tide push us closer to the island.
