Chapter 9

Laila p.o.v

My heart was beating fast as I sat at the table with my mom  , dad and Chris and this other boy . He looked my age but I wasn't interested in him , I had Chris .

" so Brian how have you been " my mom asked

" good " my dad said . He looked like he was so happy but upset that she was here .

" so Chris are you my daughters boyfriend" She asked with a smirk .

" yes " he said nonchalantly .

" Brian did you know about Chris " She asked . I was becoming angry with the way she was acting .

" yes I did . But I never got to meet him until now " He said . The boy that was with my mom looked at Chris a certain way and I didn't like .

" Brian I guess you know who this is " my mom said . My dad had an unreadable expression on his face when he looked at the boy .

" Brandon " he said .

" who is Brandon " I asked

" your brother " My dad mumbled .

" I had a brother and you didn't tell me " I said as anger slowly boiled in me .

" I didn't think you would ever meet him because I left your mom . I didn't even think you would ever meet your mom again " he said

" Why did you leave her in the first place " I asked

" enough questions Laila " He said

" no why did you leave her " I asked upset that he was hiding things from me .

" get up and close your eyes  " Chris whispered in my ear . I looked at him confused and he put his hand over my eyes and I got up . " I have to talk to her to calm her down " he said to I guess my dad . He quickly pulled me upstairs to my room and uncovered my eyes. 

" Why did you pull me away . He was about to tell me why he left my mom knowing that she had my brother with her " I yelled at him.  All he did was laugh . " what is funny "

" I never seen you get mad before " he said with a smile. He walked over to me and looked me into my eyes . " calm down you almost shifted in front of your dad . Don't let her words bother you she is testing you to see if you will shift in front of your dad "

" Why " I asked

" I don't know but don't fall for it " he said

" She isn't the only one I'm mad at . I'm mad at him too for hiding these things from me . I don't like the way my brother was looking at you neither " I said  .

" your doing it again" Chris said with a smirk . I closed my eyes and took a few deep breaths . " now remember don't let her get to you " he kissed my forehead and we walked downstairs.

" are you ok now " my dad asked and I nodded .

" Brian it is getting late. I will see you again maybe this week " my mom said getting up from the table . Brandon got up too .

" it was nice seeing you again Brandon and Raven" my dad said standing up as well. " Laila let them out for me " I walked behind them to the front door . My mom opened it and turned around .

" see you again on the full moon " she said smiling. Brandon looked at Chris and I glanced at Brandon. I guess he saw me looking at him and he turned away . I closed the door and let out a sigh.

" when is the full moon " I asked Chris

" two more days " he said .

" Chris I don't remember how to control it " I said " I don't want to hurt anyone like Keenon and Kendrick almost did to me "
