Kali Astor - the child of the notorious Astor couple - grew up as an only child but she had friends, all the same age as her, who were the closest people she let in. 

Asmodeus and Felicia Astor weren't the friendliest of parents. Actually, they were the worst you could have. Emotionally draining and sometimes even physically abusive. 

Of course some of her friends knew about this. They knew not to mess with Kali's parents, not to even mention them around her. However, she barely spent any time with her parents. They allowed her to do whatever she wanted. May be a lack of love for their child but Kali dearly appreciated this because it meant she could get away from them whenever she wanted. 

She often spent her time in Athena Lestrange's home. Her mother treated Kali like her own. She felt like her life wasn't too bad because she had many places she could call home where everyone accepted her. The Malfoys, Lestranges, Notts, and more would let her in at any time. 

Although no one questioned her parents, she didn't need them too. She felt she'd be fine. With good comes bad. And well, Kali seemed to be living the best life.

She always made the best out of a situation and even tried to play things to her advantage at the most unnecessary things. Although it made her a very easy person to talk to, she seemed to be playing a game with a cunning intent. Not all bad, but people thought she'd end up being corrupt because of her greed at such a young age. 

No. She was not greedy. She could be greedy, but she just did what's best for herself. Unsurprisingly, she learnt this nature from her parents. At least she got something 'good' out of them. 

But things always seem to return and bite you in the back.

The Hogwarts castle was absolutely mesmerising. Its whole structure reflected off the water along with the lit lanterns floating around which made Kali's brown eyes glitter. She stared into her reflection as the boat slowly made its way to the land.

"Wow..." Athena whispered, too astonished to even get out a whole word.

"Hm. You'll get used it," Draco scoffed, unimpressed, although his eyes were lit up with astonishment.

Kali gave him an irritated look. Theo slightly frustrated, gave him a look and said, "Don't ruin the experience!" Kali laughed at his half arsed exclamation and Draco shared another stern look.

Kali believed that there were unwritten rules which revolved around her that everyone understood and reasoned with.

1. The "it" group consisted of herself, Draco Malfoy, Athena Lestrange, Theo Nott, Blaise Zabini, Daphne Greengrass, a couple others who joined here and there because of their close relations with those in the group, and unfortunately Pansy Parkinson.

2. Kali's group consisted of herself, Athena Lestrange, Draco Malfoy and Theo Nott because of the trust they gained for one another through their parents also being best friends.

3. Her number one was, of course, Athena Lestrange.

4. Kali Astor and Draco Malfoy may as well be married. Although it is clear they are not dating, do not have any feelings for one another and are free to be with other people, the whole school just assumed they'd end up with each other in the late future because of their bond and protectiveness over one another.
