I shook his hand, but was too stunned to speak, "She's Deli," Kno said from behind me. He let out a little snort, "like the meat?" he asked. I regained my composure at that comment, "yes," I said defensively, "just like the meat." He seemed to sense my anger, "I didn't mean anything by it," he apologized, "it's just...different," he said. I felt the crease in my brow loosen and my features relax. "My name is actually Delilah, they just call my Deli," I said jerking my thumb back at Maisie, Juno and Mackenzie. "Do you mind if I call you that too?" he asked, a sly smile dancing on his lips, butterflies flitted around in my stomach, "sure," I replied, trying to brush it off. "Alright then," he said, "I guess I'll see you around... Deli." he said testing out the name, and before I could say anything he jogged down the road. I stood, awestruck, staring at where he had just stood. I then turned around to face Mac, Juno, and Maisie, we all looked at each other in shock until we all burst out squealing. "He totally likes you," Kno squealed, Maisie nodded beside her while Mac just shrugged and walked into one of the showers. Juno decided to take the other shower, and Maisie and I had to wait until they were done to take our turn.
Shhinnk, I slid back the shower curtain and stepped over the lip of the shower. Setting my shower bag down on the counter, I dug through it and found my brush. I ran it roughly through my long hair, trying to get out as many snarls as I could before throwing in a few dabs of leave in conditioner and calling it good. I was the last one out of the shower and Mackenzie was over at the sink brushing her teeth. Mentally deciding I would do that back at my own camper, I strode over to the door and walked out to join Kno and Maisie. Sitting down on the bench next to Maisie, I sighed. "Thinking about him?" she asked nudging my arm, I smiled and looked over at her. "You were the one who came bursting in there screaming about his abs," I accused her. "First of all," she said holding up her index finger, "I did not scream, and second," she said holding up another, "you liked him ad much as I did, if not more." I stared at her, "are you done?" I asked, she scowled at me. "I think he liked you too," she wiggled her eye brows and her lips slowly curled into a smile.
I tried to conceal my smile and keep the butterflies from flitting around in my stomach but I couldn't.
Just then I heard the door swing open and Mackenzie walked out. "Let's go," I said standing up, "this isn't over," Maisie told me as we stood up to leave. We treked down to our campers in silence and I put away my shower bag before crawling into my sleeping bag. The last image I saw before I fell asleep were his bright blue eyes lit up with curiosity.
