Cay's pov

"I-I kinda sorta like her I guess, oh damn that I practically love her Pony. But she'd never take me I-Im too skittish and jumpy and shy and she's all tuff and smart and outgoing." He said "she's got all the guys practically drooling over her. She'd never ever want me, not in a million years."

"I'm not so sure about that Johnny" I said. I don't know what came over me but I said it.

"I'm sorry if I startled yall." I started "I heard my name and I wanted to make sure you weren't talking shit about me.: I chuckled

"Well we clearly weren't." Dally said annoyed

"I'm not loving the attitude Winston." I glared crossing my arms and popping out my hip

"Alright, Alright Pony, leave the love birds alone, I'll be at bucks." Dal said and did his all famous wave

"Wanna talk at the lot?" Johnny asked and I gladly agreed.

We took our time walking to the lot and got there in around 10 minutes or so.

"Uh Cay?" Johnny said

"Yeah Johnnycake?"

"So you heard the conversation didn't ya?" "Well I know you did, I guess I can tell you in a better way." He spoke softly, his voice like a drug I could get high on over and over.

"Cay, I really like you a whole lot." He started "I thought you'd say no and you have all the other guys practically swooning, but your like a drug to me that makes me high and I think I love you Cay." He rambled. I couldn't help but notice how he almost directly quoted my earlier thought.

"Johnny, those guys?" They mean nothing to me." "You are my everything Johnnycake, I think I love you too," I said

"Y-you mean it?" He asked.

"Of course I do" I said looking him in the eye.

Johnny glanced down at my lips, we leaned in and kissed.

The kiss was passionate, Johnny lightly grabbed my waist and I wrapped my hands around his neck.

The kiss lasted a while until we needed air.

"Do you know how long I've wanted to do that?" Johnny asked pulling me into a hug on the mattress we were sitting on.

" not as long as me I bet" I challenged

"Oh so are you placing a bet?" He flirted

"Maybe" I flirted back

I've never seen this side of him. I really love it though.

We sat there in each other's embrace for a while. Then Johnny stood up and I did too.

"I've uh had this for a while but I was waiting for the right time ya know?" I nodded.

He pulled a box out of his pocket.

"Do you wanna be my girl?" He asked opening the box.

I said yes immediately without even glancing at the box and I wrapped him into a hug.

"Hey doll?" Johnny said

"Yea" I said

"I think you're forgetting something..." he said, glancing at and lifting the box.

"Oh!" I said and looked into the box.

It was a velvety case with a gorgeous golden locket. He told me to hold the box towards myself.
