I was able to rush to the hospital in time before visiting hours were over. I busted through the doors. "Where is the emergency room?!" The nurse pointed down the hallway.
Running into many other doctors, I soon managed to get to the emergency room. Max was hooked up to many wires and he was in the middle of surgery. I gasped and stepped back.
Was he.... dying...?
A doctor walked over to me and pushed me out. "Wait in the waiting room." He scolded. Like a little puppy I slouched back in fear and stared at the doctor. "Go!" He yelled.
I glanced over the doctor and looked at Max who was strapped down and he had a mask on. But when I turned my attention to the doctor, he was giving me an obvious pissed look. I stepped back and rushed to the waiting room.
Sitting in the uncomfortable chair, I sank in it, Choking back tears. He was dying wasn't he? I knew it... He... He never said goodbye to me, either... What am I going to do with my life? I know.. If he dies, I will be right behind him. No questions asked.
------
About two hours later, the same nurse walked up to me. "Mr. Schulman." She said softly. "Please report to the emergency room."
I stared blankly at her for a few seconds before slowly standing up and walking down a long hallway. Standing at the door was the same doctor from before. He gave me a brief nod and stepped aside so I could enter.
I pushed the double doors open and stared at Max. The wires and tubes were off of him, except one. This tube was connected to a stand beside the bed. It ran down the stand and to his side. In the clear tube was a red substance speckled with black dots.
I walked over to Max who seemed unconscious. Was it time to say...
Goodbye?
Max's eyes slowly opened and a large smile splayed across his face. "Hey Nev."
"H-hey Ma-Max." I whimpered softly, obviously trying not to cry.
"I'm okay," Max started happily. "They fixed me, Nev. I'm all better!" I knew Max was just trying to make me feel better. Sure, he may have been fixed but the thought of loosing him was too painful.
"Max?" I whispered.
"Yea Nev?"
"I love you." I said while the ends of my lips curled up into a small smile.
Max gave me a soft smile and stared into my eyes deeply. "I love you too."
"When will you be able to leave here?" I asked.
"Tomorrow. The doctors said that my wound wasn't as bad as they expected. It won't be fully healed for a few weeks, but I can leave tomorrow."
"What happened, exactly?"
"Well," Max began. "When I was thrown down the stairs, one of my ribs cracked and a peace of it cut through several veins and into my liver, causing internal bleeding."
I cringed at the thought. "I'm happy you are okay, though."
Max nodded. "I would never leave you."
Those words reminded me of how Max almost died in my arms. How Caroline and Rola-- CAROLINE AND ROLAND!
"Wait!" I shouted. "Did they ever find Caroline and Roland?!"
Max shrugged. "I have no idea."
Waiting for a few seconds while staring at the ground, I was debating on weather or not to leave and search for them. "Max..."
"Yes?"
I looked up at him, bent down, and gave him a kiss. "I'm going to look for them."
"Nev, you can't just-"
I cut Max off by saying, "Max I have to. They hurt you. There is no way in hell I'm letting them get away with that. I love you, Max."
"I love you too..." Max said as I left the room and into my car.
Pulling out of the hospital, I began my search. But, little had I known, this would have become the most dangerous time of my life...

In other words, please comment suggestions for this story. I need them because I honestly have no clue how to continue this.
Well, that's all for now! Till next time!))
