"I'm done Leo, I don't even know if we're officially together, and I've been living with you for a year and a half!" I yelled while grabbing my bag.

"Please don't leave me beauty, I love you so much. I won't be able to live without you." He pleaded, tears starting to form in his now very red eyes.

I must admit, I felt a little bad for him, but all he does is go out and party with people who are horrible influences. I haven't gone on a date with him in at least 4 months.

"Prove it." I said as I put my bag over my shoulder and walked to the living room to grab my phone.

He didn't give me a reply.

"Exactly, you don't even now how to prove to me that you love me." I spat while trying to hold back the tears as I made my way to the front door.

"J-Jade." He croaked out.

I turned around to face him and he was on one knee. The tears were starting to form in his eyes and he held a black velvet box with a beautiful Harry Winston ring.

He looked at me with pleading eyes and asked "Jade Albero, I love you more than you can ever imagine. I can't live without you. Will you please, please do me the honor of being my wife?"

"Leo, I can't stay. And I can't marry you. I didn't even think we were actually dating." I said while grabbing the door handle.

"Please Jade, at least take the ring. It will always be my sign that I love you unconditionally." He said while sliding the ring on my finger.

"I love you Leo." I whispered to myself as I walked out of the house and to my car.

It was over and I was heartbroken, but I know he would be worse than me.

"I'm done Leo." She said.

I was dreading those words. I knew they were coming. I hadn't spent more than an hour with her in a couple months. Instead of sleeping in our bed every night, I was out partying with people who didn't give a shit about me. Instead of making love to the only person who cared about me, I was hooking up with random girls who had no self respect for themselves. I fucked up big time.

"I don't even know if we're officially together, and I've been living with you for a year and a half!" She yelled.

I never made it official. I never asked her to be my girlfriend. I just assumed she knew.

"Please don't leave me beauty, I love you so much. I won't be able to live without you." I pleaded, tears starting to form in my eyes.

"Prove it" she said as she grabbed her phone.

I knew exactly how to do it. I was gonna wait for our anniversary, but it was now or never.

"J-Jade" My voice cracked as I grabbed the box from my back pocket. I got down on one knee and said "Jade Albero, I love you more than you can ever imagine. I can't live without you. Will you please, please do me the honor of being my wife."

The look on her face was a mix of shock, confusion, hate, and sympathy. My face was pleading and I could sense the tears streaming down my face.

"Leo, I can't stay. And I can't marry you. I didn't even think we were actually dating." She said as she grabbed the handle to the front door.

I knew there was nothing I could do or say to make her stay. I fucked up and now I have to pay the consequences. I'm surprised she didn't hear my heart shattering as we spoke.

"Please Jade, at least take the ring. It will always be my sign that I love you unconditionally." I said as I slid the ring on her finger and watched her turn and walk out the door.

"I love you Jade" I whispered to myself as I turned and walked back to my bedroom. I got into my now empty bed and it hit me that she was gone. My princess, the person who I protected under all circumstances. The person who I saved from the streets.
