I woke with sun peeking through the blinds of Ashley's room. I turned over to my other side and saw that she wasn't in bed. I got up and walked downstairs to see her with a composition book in her hand's. Her blonde hair up in a messy bun, and her instead of her usual contacts, she had her "nerd" glasses cover her dark blue eyes.
I walked down the stairs and she looked up. "Marissa!!!! I think I'v done it this time! It was so simple! My math was just off in a few spots, and it gave me the wrong coordinates!! Get in the car, we're leaving." And at that, she ran out of her kitchen, through the front door to her car. I walked slowly behind her. She was into all that sciency kind of stuff. She usually went on and on about things like the quantum theory and energy stabilization and other crap like that. She was brilliant, but a real nerd. Most people probably don't understand why we are such great friends, because I am like the exact opposite. Brown hair and eyes, dark clothes, and average grades. She is the "Student Council, star athlete, and amazing student" Kind of person, but somehow is our eighth grade science class, when we met, we just kind of clicked. Now its junior year and we are still as close as ever.
"Hurry up!" she yelled across the lawn to me. I smirked "Make me bitch." She just glared at me and opened up her door.
We drove for about half an hour, going who knows where, when she pulls into an old abandoned gas station. "We're here." She told me, getting out and taking the book with her. "What are we doing? It's a Saturday and I just wanna go back and be lazy." I asked. "Shush." She demanded. I giggled. She never told me to be quiet so she must really be into this. "It should be back here somewhere." She told me. "What is? Where are we? Why did you bring to the middle of nowhere? Are you gonna kill me and dispose of my body out here?!" I joked getting a slight giggle out of her. "Maybe... If you don't shut up." She answered back.
"These are the exact coordinates. Where is it?" She asked mostly to herself. "Well there isn't anything here, so lets go!" I whined. She started running in a circle, then jumped and stomped the ground beneath her. That's when I felt the ground beneath me begin to shake. The cement cracked, and i jumped away from it and towards Ashley, "Whats going on?" I yelled towards her. "It's working!!" She yelled happily. She was smiling and I swear I really did begin to think she was trying to kill me. Suddenly I felt my body being pulled downwards, as if gravity was increasing a hundred fold times what it normally is. Before I had time to think about running back to her car, everything went black.
