EIGHT YEARS LATER
(since the battle)
Another cycle for the tulkuns have come. Lo'ak and (Y/N) fly once again to see their friend, Payakan.
No longer an outcast, Payakan enters happily with the rest of the tulkun who come to see their brothers and sisters.
(Y/N), belonging to the forest now longer than the sea, no longer develops aquatic features. Her and Lo'ak navigate the busy waters to see their friend, who is now mated.
"Beautiful," Lo'ak signs, seeing his friend happy in the seas with his forever mate. The new tulkun swims around Payakan, before going to her soul sister elsewhere in the busy cove.
"How is your young one?" Payakan's clicking can easily be understood by Lo'ak and (Y/N) now. They converse just as naturally as the Metkayina do with their sea friends.
"Strong," (Y/N) signs back, before holding her stomach.
They all resurface. Tired from swimming while pregnant, (Y/N) motions to Payakan. The tulkun offers his fin to his friends. The trio are suddenly brought back to the old days, where they swam and played in the water before the war.
"We are expecting too," Payakan communicates. Lo'ak scoots over to the creature's head, hugging him. The two look one another in the eyes, happy for each other. The best friends are to expect boys, sons who will also become forever friends.
Emotional, (Y/N) tears up at how far they've all come: (Y/N) becoming Na'vi, Lo'ak becoming a great hunter and warrior for the Ometikaya, and Payakan being accepted by his kind again.
